Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Getting sick of the same old.. salads and sandwiches. So I need some ideas for lunches.. it needs to be reasonably healthy and I need to be able to take it to work without heating it. I like almost anything.. I tried yoghurts and soups as well (we do have a kettle for tea/coffee), but ideas get rather limited with what I have available.

if you have those cold packs for lunch boxes you can take left over fried/baked chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, pea salad, or even pasta salad (something along the salad but veggie made, or even a fruit salad) thermos for some iced tea. if you like cold pizza, take a slice. boiled shrimp (again, make sure you have an ice pack or can put your lunch in the fridge) couple of boiled eggs, piece of raisin bread and some apple butter. cottage cheese and a small kid size can/container of fruit..peaches or what not. if you don't have access to a microwave, get a wide mouth thermos. then you have more of a variety to take hot foods. fill the thermos w/ hot water and let sit w/ the lid on while you heat up whatever left overs you have, then pour out he water and add the food...spaghetti and such.

if you have a fridge, insulated lunch bag ,or cold packs, you can pretty much take anything you want for lunch
microwave??
can heat up about anything
microwaveable dinners are easy
soups come in single serve now
left overs are great!

No microwave.. Meat pies are okay, but too fatty.. Same with pizza. Those are okay occasionally, but I need something a little healthier. We have a fridge tho, so that does help a little. I like some of the idea's you have though Foxy! I might have to try them Nicole
