 Subject: Lifetank X crashes when i try to log in on AC
Ok i installed Lifetank X verison 1-9-9, afther it was done, i went to the decal client to enable it for AC (I have no red X's besides the "Version 1 Plugin Surrogate". So i start up AC, click on my character's name and AC crashes out. I been installing and uninstalling everything (includeing Decal it's self) but i don't know what the problem is. Here is my Decal log if anyone can help

a) install to a directory other than the default..

b) lifetank hasn't been updated for a few years.. I would suggest "upgrading" to vtank...

I tried installing it into antoher dictionary so im going to try downlao0d Vtank, but i never knew there was another verison of this.

Aren't the old .NET frameworks supposed to be installed for LT to work? (1.0 and/or 1.1 final, 2.0 final, etc...) *shrug*

This may help .. maybe. There is only references to the Server 2003/XP 64-bit in it's supported list. And Vista is only "generally" referenced.

On the upside, it is .NET 1.1 for a ~64-bit version. Research it and see.

I fought for many MANY an hour trying to get it working... I tried everything I could find. My installed matched all the info I could find, and everything was installed accordingly. mswinsck.ocx and all that rubbish...

What I missed was "regsvr32 /u/s msinet.ocx"

After that everything was just dandy wink

So my advice to you is.... make sure that you have both those .ocxs reged wink

was faaar harder getting it to run compared to XP or even vista, but it works.

i know. its a life tank issue as well. because when i disable life tank i can log in no problem. enable it and i crash in the blue loading funnel.

i tried using Vtank but i don't really understand it all that well, and i tried using Vtank's website for help still don't understand it all that well. Also it doesn't have a looter (by my knowledge) nor a logger. So yea... that why im not using it

Vtank uses Alinco to loot (simplified looting). You haven't read much about it if you didn't know that. I would suggest actually reading Virindi's faqs and learning to use it. Lifetank is an unsupported plugin that is eventually going to stop working completely.

Look like i said i did read Vtanks wiki witch is here http://white.virindi.net:8080/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I tried readying all of the stuff that was there but i am still abit confused about what Vtank has to offer.
I'm not trying to dis virindi's great plug-in, but i just find Lifetank X a bit more less complicated to me-to use.

Try disabling your UAC and turning off any/all fire walls & Anti virus software and see if that works.

Unfortunately I experienced the exact same problem when I tried to install Lifetank on my Win7 64bit machine, and I spent many hours trying to get it to work. I tried out Vtank and it seemed pretty complicated, but once I started looking around at things, it's not really difficult at all. You just have to have some knowledge about how the game works and such. And yes, I use Alinco to loot with it. One of my biggest complaints about lifetank was the amount of memory it took up. I could only run it for a few hours before I ran out of memory, and I have 8GB. But, if you're looking for an auto-logging "tank" plugin, then I guess you're limited to lifetank, because Vtank does not support UCM type activities.

Well i might reconsider, i don't know. I'm just used to using lifetank from the past years that i never really bother to look at Vtank. But i guess i got no choice now to use it plain . It would be nice if there was a fix for it but, i guess im off to Vtank.

To dayzed_dt, i tried disableing UAC, didn't work.

Disabling the UAC is mainly to correct read/write type errors. The program files folder in Vista/W7 is write protected as long as the UAC is enabled. This is supposed to keep malware from being able to install itself.

so i have this issue with lifetankx. AC will launch fine but as soon i i try to enter the world it crashes(actually i sits their for a few min then closes) i have narrowed down the issue to having to do with the darkside filter. if i disable this filter then i can get in no problem but i don't think lifetank actually works as i can't get it to do anything.(maybe i just don't understand how it works.??) i am using windows 7 64-bit here is the export from decal:

i will give vtank a try as well tonight. AC and decal are no installed to program files. they are installed on a second partition(as you can see from the export) decal is in a subfolder of my AC install folder and lifetank is a sub folder of where decal is installed.

i have tried using both the default and the Alternate injection methods with same results.

To people that are having this same issue listen up, i may have found a solution.


As i was having this crash problem with Lifetank X a few weeks ago (that i gave up on and when to Vtank) i did trial and error with patches, plugins and other programs that i had working with decal that could have been doing this problem, But when i decided to update my Pimphand to the March 2010 verison, it worked like a charm. So i think that Pimphand may have something to do with it.
