Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Actually that was his idea. Washing dishes looks like fun! Too bad that isn't going to last. Still not going to get him out of washing dishes when he's older.

When I see "labor" I think about other things involving a baby's arrival. /shudder
My toddler loves "helping" with the dishes i.e. playing in the water with the bubbles and sharing all that fun time with mommy.

Hah, I remember always wanting to mow the lawn. (We had a big lawn, including an orchard so it required a big riding mower.) Finally I was allowed to and I realized how much the job sucked. "Too late, it's your job now." My sister was so jealous that I didn't have to vacuum the house, I got to ride around on a big toy. My father eventually relented and she did one loop around the orchard and gave up. It remained my job despite brutal allergies and asthma, I'd finish with eyes and nose streaming and would have used an inhaler several times. I knew better than to ask to use the snow blower. Eventually that was my job too. The thing was older than me and barely started, only after dozens and dozens of pulls. It was a brutal workout just to get it started. After that it was ok. When I moved out Dad put on an aftermarket electric starter that you plugged into a wall socket. The thing drew so much juice it would dim the lights in the whole house, and even then it took a few minutes of steady cranking to even get a sputter. (Plus we had to walk 400 miles to school, up a cliff both ways in freezing rain every day. Yeah.)
