http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/41265/clash-of-the-titans/videos/clash_titans_trl2_121709.html Maybe its just me, but that may be the most awesome movie trailer I have ever seen. Loved the movie as a kid, and looking forward to the movie...but regardless of how the movie turns out, whoever put together the trailer deserves an award.

Pleasingly cheesy. Good that they got rid of Titans... Will... Clash! Great that they have Neeson commanding "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!"

A big part of it is the music. Its an orchestral version of a song called The Bird and the Worm, I think made just for the trailer. I watched this a dozen times at work with the speakers turned up.

oh, wow... another of my favorite old movies resurrected! I actually did a book report in 6th grade on the Alan Dean Foster novelization of the original movie.

So I heard this was pretty bad. More importantly I heard criticism of the "fake" 3D that was added in post production. The people who saw it said if you're going to see it, see it in 2d, because this is not like the Avatar experience. Apparently it sort of messes with the intended effect of the creatures. One guy said it makes them seem almost weightless.

That is one awesome trailer! I still remember bits and pieces of the original, love it to this day so I've been looking forward to this one since word of it first got to me. Likely end up being one I actually go out and buy in addition to catching in the theatre, I'm being a true hoser and going by myself to see it Something I never do, but since moved to a new city and really itching to see this on the big screen I am sucking it up lol. If the music in the movie is anywhere near as good as the song in the trailer... i'll be crying for a soundtrack.

Just came back from a 3D showing. It was a good popcorn film, and I'd say see it in 2D too. The 3D wasn't terrible, but it wasn't really noticeable most of the time. At one point in the movie, I took the glasses off to rub my eyes a little, and the picture didn't seem that much different than with the glasses on. The CGI was pretty well done, although the Kraken looked a little fake to me. I did like their medusa though, pretty awesome, and while she doesn't look anything like the Harryhausen version, I think they did a decent job on it. I wanted to yell "Qui Gon!" so badly anytime Liam Neeson was on screen too, but I held back. Sam Worthington stars in this movie too, but he looks so similar to Jake Sully from Avatar that I was thinking "good lord, weren't you just on Pandora?!" lol. Pretty much all the other characters are forgettable though. The movie doesn't spend much time with them, and when they do show them, you don't see them for long. I hated that some of the soldiers looked very similar, so I couldn't really tell them apart. The only other characters worth mentioning is the lady that goes with Perseus on his journey, and Hades since he's the bad guy.

So far the reviews have been surprisingly positive. I tend to trust Roger Ebert usually, and he admitted its mindless entertainment, but done well making it enjoyable enough.

I'm sorry, I think the movie majorly sucked balls. The storyline, the acting, the 3d all just major ass suckitude. There is a reason it's getting a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. I am a huge fan of the original and was seriously looking forward to this movie, but damn I wish I had slept for 2 hours rather than go see this piece of crap. And the worst part was the damn driftwood wookie

It wasn't too bad.
But it was obvious the 3d was added after. I'd suggest people see it in 2d instead.
The giant scorpions looked like they were kinda floating about, and you ever watch the new America's Funniest Home Videos where they put the host's head on the old clips? That's what the 3d overlay reminds me of. Like the characters had bobble heads that would move seperate from their body. The Medusa fight was one of the best scenes. It reminded me of the God of War games.

Hades is the bad guy? Why? I always thought he was one of the more benevolent Greek gods.

My GF and I saw it tonight. We enjoyed it, although my GF is a big Greek Mythology fan and said it didn't stick to the story very well. She had to turn her brain off to enjoy it.

In the original myths, Pegasus was tamed by Bellerophon, not Perseus. Perseus created Pegasus by killing Medusa... the winged horse sprang out of Medusa's severed neck. ...and he didn't kill the Kraken, he killed the Cetus. The Kraken was a giant octopus or squid from Norse mythology.

Yeah, the original Clash of the Titans vaguely adhered to Greek mythology. This one vaguely adhered to Clash of the Titans. The Kraken not only isn't a Titan, its not even a part of Greek mythology.

Interesting article that might explain why the film wasn't as good as it could have been.

Holy crap. I knew they did some reshoots but I didn't realize they tampered with the movie as much as they did. The original story that was planned actually sounds like an awesome movie. Chalk another ruined movie up to Hollywood execs.

Ya, the movie was weak to begin with and then whoever wrote it clearly is a buffoon.

Well, you see him for about 3 seconds, then Perseus is told to put it away. So I think they just threw it in there for the fans of the original, and then they give us a big middle finger by not using it in the movie.

I think the real big middle finger was putting out that travesty under the same name as the original. I still can't get over the friggen driftwood wookies.
