This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least 20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per page).

Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50 topics per page, while others deemed of historical signifigance may be archived in their entirety.

We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in lieu of that.

	Some time gone, Turbine announced the addition of a new server. Verdantine. There was excitment and expectation as the day dawned and we all flocked to this bold, new world! That first few weeks was a blurred rush, as people tried to find new and creative ways to level. Those insane jumps to try and get the machine parts for xp turn ins. Harrowing fellowship hunts in the old Mossy dungeon outside Zaikahl. It was a heady, dangerous, exciting time. Alanon was my aspiring mage. My friends and I created a new Monarchy - The Druids of Paranor - and we set out to explore this new land. But alas, for us, it was not to be. The call we continued to heed, but it was back home, on our parent world, ancient Harvestgain. Friends who'd not made the journey with us, we found we'd missed. The heroes there we'd left behind had left us with a hollow, wanting yearning... So we bade green Verdantine farewell, to return to our distant shores and homes. But. There are those we'd left behind. Those that remained, to fight the good fight. At first these battles raged in the light of Asheron and Queen Elysa. But soon a darkness began to take the green lands - at first the departure was a slow trickle. But eventually a full Exodus empied the lands near totally of hope, hero and voice. There are those we'd left behind. Abandoned. The old King's eyes flickered open. The same nightmare. Always the same. His hall, the noble stone cracked and crumbling. Skeletons littering the bailee. Wild growth choking the arbor. And beasts lurking the halls. Beasts his mind shied from. The combined conciousness of a million minds, the hive, the Virinidi. He shuddered. It was just a dream. Quietly so as not to wake Kheli, grabbing his robe he rose to wander out to the balcony, the forest was quiet in the misty dawn. He liked this new fortress, but he missed the sea - many of his council chided him on his impulsive move to the sumemr palace. The longer they remained, the more he found himself agreeing with them. Soon, soon they would be back at the sea. He felt Taylsah arrive, and was comforted by his sturdy presense. The old wizard rarely slept, so likely sensed the King moving about. "Morning, Bleys" There was no "my king" or "your highness" - just two old warriors, greeting the dawn. Taylsah had told him rather pointedly almost thirty years gone now, "The day you make me bow knee, is the day I'm gone" the two had remained fast friends ever since. His First Counsilor, at times he had a better feel for his subjects than the King himself. "You've had the nightmare again" it was not a question, prompting a look from the old Monarch. "Aye - ever the same. It's like they've already won. Dammit, and we've not even given them a fight!" anger flaired in Bleys Icefalcon's eyes. It was in the ancient scrolls, the Rune of the Icefalcon, penned by the ancient sage Foo, that Clan Icefalcon would stand against the Virindi in that final day. And succeed. Taylsah was clearly nervous as he continued "I have visited the Great Work" he paused. Bleys merely looked at his old friend. Nothing Taylsah said or did surprised the old King anymore. If Taylsah says he visited something they'd both had a hand in destroying nearly ten years gone, it wouldn't brook to argue with him. "And I saw the source of your dreams" "You what?" "The source. Do you recall, some years ago, Asheron opened that strange portal that sent us to that loamy, green empty world? To Verdantine?" The word elicted a myriad of memories, most long forgotten. Verdantine... such hope. He recalled his incarnation there, a young wizard, a fledgling Monarchy... and the ancient Empyreans warning "Fear the Virindi". He gasped as he realized he'd seen this idylic forest before, he'd stood on this balcony - then, on that distant world, a near perfect copy on this one. In Alanon's body! The next words Taylsah spoke stunned him. "Aerbax, before he rebelled... he created Verdantine, as a tool to study our destruction." The two stood stock still, gazing incredulously at one another. Taylsah didn't realize the truth of the words until he'd spoken them. Bleys was quicker to recover. "There are still those left behind." again looking out to the forest, but this time seeing enemies behind the trees, with billowing blue gray cloaks and lifeless red eyes... Viggo, Anoth, Tiki... they'd opted to stay. Bleys whispered "What of those left behind?" Taylash's eyes were hard "You've seen the dreams. They die, they all die." It took the better part of a year, and enough lay line energy to shatter a mountain, but with the aid of Celdiseth, Shoyanen and Fadsahil, Taylsah was ready. The spell was immensely difficult - taking nearly a day to complete, but at the end, the exausted Taylsah opened the gateway, tearing into portal space a conduit between Harvestgain and Verdantine. Bleys Icefalcon stepped though, and using the mind call shared by each of the High Monarchs, invited those that remained to a new home. A way back. A fresh start. I am not saying this would be easy. I am not saying this would be something you'd even want to do. Established characters - some maxxed out, with years of equipment and history. Housing and everything. To up and leave. To start over, with strangers. That's a leap. That's faith right there. That's for many - just not gonna happen. Ever. I get that. But I also get that Verdantine, sadly, isn't what she used to be. Maybe you like an uncrowded world to explore quietly and without the bother of people pressing about. There is pleasure to be had in such intimacy. And I do not want to offend that! What I am offering is this - a fresh start to anyone who wants it, an active clan, of a strong group of steady reliable players. Fun loving, helpful, happy people who regularly, routinely quest. Alot of questing. Insane questing. Downright sillyness level questing. We've gone plaid questing. I can make a few promises, too. What spare equipment we have, will be shared. We will help you level with advice and even some teaking sessions. The sharing of xp items such as jaws and Mini Boss Trophies, pincher and tusk runs. We'll help you with writs and housing items, and make the transition from one, to the other as smooth and as painless as possible. I know for me, and only me personally, that I found I desperately missed that strong supportive circle of friends and clan mates I had come to rely upon over the years. I know how lonely I had become when I was on Verdantine, and while I may be dead wrong, and way off base - I at least suspect some of you might be receptive to a new home and a fresh start with a large, supportive group. 	The folks who play VT love VT. I doubt many would take you up on your offer, and those that do would probably quickly return to VT. There may not be the numbers of players on VT, but they are quality players. It's very peaceful on a less crowded server. I've tried going to more active servers, but after a short time, I head back to VT. Been on VT since day 1. Perhaps people who are looking for a more quality experience should come from their old tired worlds and join us on VT.... -----signature----- And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count.
