Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Possibly conflict with Vtank and Decal Hotkey System?

I recently upgraded my video card after experiencing issues with Vtank. I figured my video card did need an upgrade but at the same time came to the realization that the video card was def. not the issue to my problem with vtank. The issue was that after running a short while, video began to be choppy. It became worse and worse as time progressed and the only solution was to restart ac. When I tried running vtank with decal hot key system only (thinking I might need hot key system on) it still was occurring. Trying vtank alone, I began to see improvement or at least I didn't see the same issue occur within a few lengthy runs in game. Now the only other thing I thought it would have been other then the hot key system was Quest Timer. But after only altering the update settings I still have yet to see the choppy game play. I am posting this to see if it is the hot key system that is conflicting with vtank or am I just lucking out? And If anyone else is seeing the same issue, perhaps try this and see if it is a fix? I am sure it would help others.

Hmm, I hadn't noticed this but it is certainly possible. I may at some point get back into AC development (it is a cyclical thing with me) and I will put this on my list to look into. The problem is that it has been a long time since I have leveled a char for long periods, so it is hard to see stuff like this. :\

Well I saw this in short periods of time when in areas such as GY. I just had been doing random trouble shooting due to vtank having better options to narrow down my uses. (just like to auto buff and heal). There a few people on TD that have the same issue happening so I suggested to them to try this and so far no complaints, but not sure if they have tried it extensively.

Virindi Inquisiter, is there any reason there are no paypal donation buttons on your site? My wife and I use your plugin and love it.
Thanks for making it

I tried pulling DHS on the two problem systems I have (laptops), and the choppiness went away. Thanks Cyranos.

One other thing to look at, check the files in the vtank install directory, I had a file that was over 646k (with a toon-name.ast extension) and my buffing had turned into a slideshow(8 to 10 minutes to buff, ug). I made a copy of the enormo file and cut out all but the first dozen or so lines and life if now all good. Easy way to check is to sort that directory by size and check the last few on the big end.

This problem should not occur with the latest version of VTank. It was a bug in an older version. See what version you are running
