Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Topaz Adjust Photoshop plug-in, let's you get HDR like effects from single images. Seems to work pretty well, but I haven't had much time to play with it. Going to try and go out to take some pictures with this in mind, I'll post the results. Free trial available through the website...

I'm not to fond of HDR'ing, because to do it right, you're gonna have to do alot of work, and second I don't think its needed very much.
You can get alot done in LR2 if you use it well, so the only time you'll need to use the HRD tech, is when the image spans over a too great dynamic range (most modern SLRs can handle 10-12 steps, whereas the human eye can handle about 24)
In nature, this usally means landscape with bright light. And while there are a few exeptions, they are not so many that the whole HDR subject warrants much consideration.
This is ofcource nothing but my opinion

Of course for pics of Aunt Sofia but for nature pics HDR rocks the house.

Whether you generally like HDR or not, I still recommend giving the software a shot...

I downloaded it and had a play, it looks like it could create some very interesting effects. I'm going to grab the month trial key at some point to give it a full go

I dunno if I should be or but my point is that it seems to help nature pics more than when someone is in the photo. When someone is in the photo it starts to get artsy looking imo.
