This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive. ~

I'm not sure if i'm just starting with images that are too big or if its how i'm resizing them but just about everything i try to make into an icon turns into a blurry mess when i resize it down to icon size. i am making sure the proportions stay the same its just the detail degenerates too far when i resize. are there programs that handle it better than others(i'm using gimp), or anything at all i can do to keep more detail when i resize? i realize its unavoidable to an extent because of the change in pixel count but i was hoping there were programs or tricks that helped reduce the image degradation.

I don't know much about gimp, but as you said, it is going to happen. I will usually resize large images by hand and not have the program change it. Higher DPI should allow the image to be a little less blurry.
