Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Icon Question

When I make an icon in CS4 using the any of the following background layer criteria: * Icon Background Color Codes: * Hexadecimal- 0xBCB3B1 * HTML - #B1B3BC * Hue Saturation Luminosity(HSL) - H:153 * S:18 * L:172 * Red Green Blue(RGB) - R:177 * G: 179 * B:188 * Cyan Magenta Yellow Black(CMYK) - C:5 * M:4 * Y:0 * K:27 * Hue Saturation Brightness(HSB) - H:135 * S:6 *B:74 I get the slightly off color you see in my sig and this icon: i.e. in RBG I enter 177/179/188, those stay correct while in PSD, PNG, TIF, etc, etc, etc.....all except JPG. When I save to JPG the RGB values change to 176/179/188. Ideas on what I'm screwing up/missing?

Your current icon looks fine to me... To me the section where posts are is a different shade of gray than the #B1B3BC where the username/icon are located. At least that's how it appears to me. Edit: My assumptions are correct. The color of where the posts actually display is #c1c2c9. So you'd want to use that for a signature.

I actually meant foot banner instead of the icon, sorry. Will have to change the background on sig when I get home to see if that helps.

Compression does that in JPG. Can you do color tables and lock that colour in CS4 for .jpg? (I know you can't in CS3)

Never thought of that, will have to check to see if that's supported.

Heading home in about an hour, will swap out the background with that value. Thanks!
