Subject: Hurricane Wine
September 2008 hurricane Ike is heading towards Texas, and there was a mandatory evacuation in my area.

My uncle's brother Benny took us all in, we had a great time.

He owns a vineyard ( http://ofarrellvineyard.com/index.html ), it's one of those "u-pick-ems" where people come and pick fresh vine ripe muscadines ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscadine

we had made jelly from the "Carlos Variety" ... we had also spent a lot of time picking the "Hunt Variety" because they were ripe and they didn't want to storm to come up and blow them all off the vines.

he took all the fresh berries we picked and started making wine out of them ... i think he made about 25 gallons of wine

just recently my grandma, aunt, and uncle were driving through on their way to and from Branson Missouri ... he sent back a bottle apiece

drinking a glass now ... it is soooooo good ... its like a blush ... a little sweet ...

just thought i would share
