Welcome to the Vault Network forum archive.

This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least 20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per page).

Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50 topics per page, while others deemed of historical signifigance may be archived in their entirety.

We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in lieu of that.

As many of you already know, I made a post a couple post a couple days ago some pending changes. Well, as you can see, that time has come. I whipped up a little guide to help explain everything. So here goes... General Updates: * Private Messages - Private messages are now open to everyone after 20 posts. This means you will need to have at least 20 posts on the boards before you can use the PM system. Insiders can use private messages immediately, of course. * All users can read Insider boards - This means non-Insiders will be able to check out threads located within Insider-only based boards. However, only Insiders will be able to reply and join the discussion. * Mark-up code - All users can use the various mark-up code the board offers. These include such classics as: quote, bold, italics, text color, underline, links, images, lists, smiley faces, etc. * Default Icons (80x80 pixels) - Every registered user can use an icon to be displayed under their name. All registered users may also upload an icon to be placed in the public pool. The icon needs to be 80x80 pixels and no larger than 15KB in size. Your icon submission will be reviewed after its added by staff and rejected if it contains material against our rules. * Quick Post - This tool adds the functionality to "quick post" to a thread without using the separate post reply page. It also gives you a WYSIWYG style editor. You can enable this feature within the "Change Your Display Settings" located on the Options page. New Insider Only Features: * Insiders color usernames - You can apply a custom color to your username changing the appearance on the boards. This applies to the text color only (not the border or background). This is located in the "Change the Style of Your User Name" located within the Options page. * MegIcons - Allows you to upload our new biggie-sized person icon known as "MegIcon". The MegIcon must be 120x120 pixels and under 25KB. Your MegIcon will only be accessible to you within your "icon locker". * Image Sigs - Insiders can upload a small Signature Image which will appear at the bottom of your posts within threads. The image sig must be 500x60 pixels and under 50KB. Side note: every user will be able to hide Image Signatures if they choose. The controls for this are located in the "Change Your Display Settings" located on the Options page. * Titles - Insiders, VIPs and above can give themselves titles that will display under their username within threads and elsewhere around IGN. You can find this under the "Add or Change Your Title" page located within Options. Note: If you are found uploading/adding material (Icon, MegIcon, Image Sig, Title) against the board rules, it will be removed and your account will be met with extreme moderation. Also, if the icon/MegIcon or Image sig that is overly distracting (for example a bright pink flashing square), or of very low quality, it might be removed. I know this all sounds harsh but it had to be said and you can't say no one warned ya wink Okay, that is about it and this covers the main changes to the boards. I wanted to also say this is just phase one in an ongoing board upgrade project we have going at IGN. We have a lot more new features, fixes and design/UI enhancements coming down the short pipe. Way too much to even begin to talk about. So this is just the prelude to more improvements and involvement. However, I will be in consent communication regarding everything and you all will be in-the-know every step of the way. Most of what we have planned were suggestions/ideas/feedback from YOU. Together we will make our home even better. Stay tuned. Feel free to chime in on these changes and let us know about any bugs/oddness that you might see. Please do so within this thread so we can contain it and properly log everything. 	Please tell Management the boards look like ** now. 	looks like lynea got a new icon I think it is good. There were some other things that would have been a good to add but oh well. I think it will be nice. -----signature-----
