I've enjoyed the monthly contests and what would you do with X ingredient.
Don't take this personally, but I find it odd that they're adding mods to the board that have never posted here. Do you (and the other newcomers) have any real interest in cooking? I guess I ask because I wonder if the interest from you guys will wane once the new car smell is gone.

Actually that is a fair question. I have read here quite a lot. I enjoy cooking quite a lot too, I like to make things like pasta dishes, Seafood, and try to make new things. I also bake too. I always browse just don't post a ton.

i suck at baking .... measuring things is not my forte ... i can do it, i just don't like to
speaking of seafood ....
(sorry i do this a lot, something rings a bell and i just go ahead and post it)
muscles in spicy tomato sauce
a few pounds of fresh muscles (gun show baby)
fresh tomatoes (steamed peeled and diced)
a few cloves of garlic (baked in their own skin so they are soft)
a small onion chopped really fine
some green onions ... chopped
olive oil (or butter depending what you like)
basil
oregano
salt
white pepper
cayenne pepper
white wine (the more the merrier)
clean and rinse the muscles ... set them aside in a strainer
sautee the onions in a skillet
transfer contents to a stock pot
add your garlic, tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, white pepper, cayenne pepper
bring to a boil for 15 minutes
add in a few cups of white wine (or half a bottle if you prefer)
bring to a boil again
add in the green onions 5 minutes before serving
.... at this point you can choose to add your muscles in (i like this option) --- or you can steam them seperately in plain water
serve with linguine or fetucine --- .... and whatever is left of the wine

Regarding your prize Rudy and Qwikk are playing Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who gets to tell you 
They said I wasn't allowed to give anymore prizes away after I gave away a rock from Gibraltar.
Sounds like a nice Recipe Shaggy. I have one that is pretty similar called mussels Fra Diavlo. It is really good but man it is spicy.

Take off your shoes. Remove socks.
Roll up your pants.
Go into the water and fill bucket with mussels.
Go back to beach and build a fire.
Fill a pot with seawater and bring to boil.
Drop in mussels.
When they open, remove the pot from the flame.
Add generous amounts of white vinegar.
Open a bottle of your favorite beer.
Enjoy!
