I'm not sure about a meal, but I used to always make Pikelets for my family. I think the first dinner I cooked for my family was a stir fry. I occasionally do a satay when i'm home from college, but mum insists on doing 99% of the cooking because she's a coeliac and has no chance of messing up ingredients. She also knows what my brother likes and dislikes (aspergers, mess up the texture of something or add unfamiliar ingredients and he won't go past a few bites unless he loves it, it's either a nice surprise or a horrible failiure). So yeah, never really been able to let loose. EDIT: \/ Oh that sparked a thought, I once did a roast chicken over the phone for mum. Things always taste better when you make them

I have no real idea, but it might have been spaghetti with meat sauce. I started cooking dinner for the family when I was 12. My mom would call me from work and tell me to get everything started and if I didn't know how to do it, she'd tell me how.

I don't remember. I was the youngest of 5 kids in my family and it was our job to get dinner ready for the family each night because mom and dad both worked full time. I feel like I've been cooking my entire life but I never get tired of it. Silver

No idea really. I started cooking dinner for the family on my own when I was about 10. I always helped with dinner from the time I was old enough to stand on the stepladder to get to the counter.
I do remember that 17 Magazine used to have a really great section on cooking. They gave recipes for a full meal and had the instructions timed out for you so everything would be ready at the time time. It even came with a grocery list. Now it's all about makeup, clothes and boys. I think the first recipe I planned out from that was Bockwurst and sauerkraut. I still have that recipe and still make it on a regular basis.

My first meal (I think) was chili. First job, first apartment, and on my own. That's where I learned the hard way that a clove of garlic is not the whole bulb.

Bacon and eggs (they ended up scrambled) on Mothers day I was probably about 8. I don't count boiling hot dogs or heating soup I had been doing that since I was 3 or 4 with moms supervision. I'm 51.

Fried chicken I don't remember the first time I cooked a meal, but by age 11, I was cooking 75% of the meals, minimum. **Except holiday meals, mom always made those.
