Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Ok I saw the ultimate one today, it was called the Egg cracker I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. I mean seriously if you can't crack an egg you should not be in the kitchen. The freebie was the egg scrambler, it had a needle like projection that you poke up into the egg and it scrambled the egg for you still in the shell. You then crack open the egg and Voila! scrambled egg! I tried googling the one I saw but I came up with another one that looked different. I was so busy laughing I didnt write down the URL to the one I saw.
I will admit that I do have a set it and forget it, that I absolutely love!
So what kitchen gadgets have you bought or saw that were totally useless or worked great? Or have you seen a new gadget that cracked you up?
Ayla.....still cracking up

Nomex Oven Gloves, I don't watch much, if any television, so prob missed the commercials... but caught the "as seen on tv" sign by them at a local store. I'm pretty deeply involved with firefighting, so recognized Nomex as a common firefighting material used for turnout gear. Got them for like 15 bucks, and they've been great. They fit like a winter glove which, for me, is 10X better than the mitts (speaking as a infrequent cook). There hasn't been anything I haven't been able to grab and hold for as long as I want.

OK, I was curious and googled egg cracker. I found this blog.. http://unclutterer.com/2008/04/09/unitasker-wednesday-the-egg-cracker/ I love this line: "I used to have a difficult time cracking an egg and not including at least a couple of pieces of shell in the egg as it dropped into the bowl … and then I turned 10."

I don't think I have any gadgets like that.
But, I do know that my 6 year old can crack eggs and rarely has to fish out any shell pieces. I always make her crack them into a custard cup first. This past Christmas I bet she cracked over 2 dozen eggs and I can only remember once when she had a shell fall in.
