I love how Mattel bought them out. tongue And no, we are anti-Bratz at our house.

My granddaughters are getting 2 generations of Barbies, complete with clothes, furniture and accessories. happy My daughter is having a great time fixing them all up, but cringing over all the 80's outfits. Hahaha!

The girls will go nuts. We also have maybe, 20 or 25 still in the boxes. The collector ones. I have to stay away from the departments. I would buy Barbie every time, if I didn't. grin

Let me again state how glad I am that I have a boy. (He doesn't even like stuffed animals, only cars, trains, planes, blocks etc.)

I've been pretty much anti-Bratz here as well. I personally don't like the shows, much less the dolls and the fashions they were. So far my baby girl was the only one to show any interest in Bratz, but she LOVES Barbie so much more. My oldest, she just cringed looking at them and then went off in search of baby dolls when she was that age. Now she's into electronics...PSP for her this year. /sigh

I had one each, so we had a good taste of both boys and girls. happy I have to say, the granddaughters absolutely love all the matchbox cars we have. Those things have been a toy mainstay around here forever. I guess they even taste good. tongue

This.

Fortunately my girls aren't very interested in dolls in general, much less Bratz.

Barbie's always had big competitors in Britain...i preferred Sindy as a kid, and my daughter has always had a selection of different dolls, including Bratz. She wasn't bothered what type it was.
... she chopped the hair off all of them and made her own clothes for them anyway hehe usually by chopping up her own things!!!!!

Bratz are not allowed in our house. I watched the cartoon once and heard what one of the talking dolls said. Plus, I think they look and dress like hookers. We do not consider that appropriate behavior so have banned them.

Even though Aime doesn't care for dolls, there will be no Bratz brought in this home.

A lot of people think I'm too old fashioned--and in some ways I am. But, it's nice to see that I'm not the only parent who doesn't allow those dolls in the house.

The fact that they are/were so popular, just says a lot about our current society. shock

Amen! I hate seeing so many little girls wearing bright makeup and wearing way too revealing clothes. I've seen girls as young as 5 wearing makeup and dressing like prostitutes. It makes me sad. I'm afraid that seeing those girls makes me even more strict with how I allow my 6 year old to dress.
