Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Tazzer's one guy who loves to talk beer, the other is Kestrel. Check out the board history for our past beer discussions.

I'm not a big fan of alcohol in any form, though I do have a drink from time to time.
The only beers I like are pale ales and dark lagers. If I have a beer 4 times a year, I'd be surprised.

Don't have the time or the area to do really good homebrews where I am right now.
I buy a lot of microbrews to try different things. I absolutely LOVE Stone Brewing.
Just tried some new microbrews the other day. Moylan Imperial Stout was alright. Not the worst, but I have had better. Didn't write down the other one as it received the same assessment. Also had Stone Brewing's 11th Anniversary brew. OMFG it was amazing. Dark and Sweet IPA is the best way to describe it.
Silver, thanks, you make me sound like a total lush!

Stone makes good beers. I'm a huge Rogue fan myself, if you like Guinness their Shakespeare Stout is a must. Their "Dead Guy" is pretty good new, and they have a very interesting Chipotle Ale.

I have not gone for the Rogue line of brews yet. Since they have quite a few, I am just waiting for when I want to do a weekend blitz. I was going to stop by BevMo today and buy a bunch, but unfortunately, my schedule just got tossed into the air.
Oh, and Anderson Valley Brewing Company makes some amazing brews.
ISO Sweet Lushette!

There's a rule in these forums that if you start a thread on beer, you got to buy the first round.

Okay, since Stouts are my real benchmark of microbrews, I decided to try Moylan's Imperial Stout. Previous post was in error, I bought Moylan's Kilt Lifter, was also looking at Imperial Stout. Bought it today. It's okay, more alcohol kick (10%) than really enjoyable flavor. It does have a great initial flavor, but the alcohol content really overpowers.
The other microbrew I bought last trip was Alaskan Brewing's Smoked Porter. It was decent, very unique flavor with the smoked alder wood.
This trip I also bought Anderson Valley's Brother David's Double Ale (I have had their Triple Abbey already which was GREAT) and New Belgium Brewing 1554. Have not cracked those open yet.
