Your AC Client is out of date. If you are using Dual Log, make sure all directories contain a current version, or get latest version from Turbine. (client version=0.0.11.2151 xml version=0.0.12.2141)

I could not update my Decal. I do not use Dual client. Not sure why, but I get an error message that says, "Could not update memlist. Host Server down?"

fitz, the decal dev's don't allow mirrors of thier work, for security reasons as some folk may be .. inclined to alter things to the downloaders detriment.
Wing, Decal checks the client version against the decal memloc version, if there is a mismatch it doesn't usually allow it to start.

Besides, it's usually quicker to get the original site back up again than provide the means or instructions for people to update from elsewhere.
Incidentially, the client isn't old, it's just that for some inexplicable reason this month's version is less than last months. It is newer, it's just got a version number that makes it look older.

Thanks for recommending megaupload. Here's the list of files that I found in my Decal 3.0 folder under program files that were altered by the memloc update today before the site went down. All I did was copy these files to my other comp's Decal 3.0 folder and overwrote the previous existing files. Everyone that I have sent this to has worked so I am hoping that it works for you too.

Download killbit.xml and memlocs.xml
Replace the files in (typically) C:\Program Files\Decal 3.0 with the ones you downloaded. Start Decal. Done.

erm, you don't have to dl the manager.
When you follow the link, ignore the ad on the right side. Above the file info, near the top right of the actual non-ad window ia a code of 3 capital red letters you have to enter (presumably an 'are you human?' test) which will take you to another window and after 45sec, you can download the file.

replacing the memlocks and killbits worked.
It doesn't look like it is the hosting server for http://update.decaldev.com that is the problem.
Most people have had no trouble updating decal. There are just a few of us lucky ones that it won't work for.
It looks like there is a corrupted record or a DNS server down out in BFE.
I did a tracert and it gets into the neighborhood, but can't reach the server. The breakdown was 14 hops into the tracert so I a pretty confident that it isn't local to me.

I am posting on this topic since Drakier seems to have indicated this is the place for it.
I noticed 2 problems after updating with the new .xml, I don't know if it is with the xml or with the plugins I am using.
1) Alinco is now auto-looting some fairly useless weapons, and I can find no reason why it would. I did not have this problem before the update - I was looting the same corpses in the same area.
2) Find It! is alerting me to armor that does not seem to fit what I configured it to look for. I only installed this plug-in after the update, so have no comparison data.

when my update wasn't working i thought originally me, so i deleted decal and started to re-install.

To be more precise to the problem it is not an issue with the Hosting company itself.
We have a box at a co-location. This box was "power cycled" and refused to come back up. That means someone has to go to the actual data center and mess with the box to get it back online.
It has nothing to do with the hosting itself. Just the box the site is ran from.

He said that someone had gone to power cycle the box, but it won't come up. Since I've had a box co-located at a data center before, I can tell you that it's not their responsibility if a co-located serve does not come back up. It's yours.. the owner of that box.

THANKS A TON for posting those files, we were actually considering canceling AC before this! Our decal does work now, but we still get the same error others get if we hit update. Oh well, at least it works now in game:D

Regarding my concerns that the the decal update might have errors:
1) seems Alinco was working fine. The default has salvage loot enabled, and I did not realize that. Not sure why it didn't loot items I did not want before.
2) re Find It! notifying of unwanted armor items, still no idea why this is happening.

Okay, im running windows Vista...
Seems if i run DECAL in Administrator MODE it accepts the manual updates.
If not it doesn't recognize the new memlocs.
Decal won't show up in AC unless its run in ADMIN mode too. However, it will not let me fully log into AC when ran in ADMIN mode.

We have somebody who is visiting the datacenter today. There is a good chance that won't be enough to bring it back online, and we'll be having to replace some or all of the hardware.
We have periodic backups, and that machine had built-in redundancy, but we've suffered a chain of failures to get us here. We'd already been talking about doing some hardware replacement, but it wasn't scheduled to happen for another 3-6 months, if we were going to do it.
We'll be putting something temporary online if necessary, once we know more about the current hardware.

The problem is, you're re-distributing licensed materials. We as the license holders asked you to REMOVE them from alternate hosting since we did not give you exclusive privileges to redistribute our materials.
We asked you nicely to remove them. Telling us that you basically just moved them doesn't take care of your part of actually REMOVING the content.
Please REMOVE the alternate hosting of the content as we have not given you permission to redistribute them.

I dl'd the memlocs and copied them into the decal 3.0 folder and I still get the error.. When I copied them, decal was not running. Anyone have any other ideas?

yes, you put all those files stright into "C:\Program Files\Decal 3.0\". you could goto "Start menu.. run.. and put in that directory up above" and it will go stright to that location so you dont have to go clickin all over the place.

in case you missed the other update, http://update.decaldev.com should be working soon. It might take a little time for the DNS cache to refresh around different ISPs, but we have a temp site up for now that can handle the Decal Updater. So when the DNS finally gets flushed, you should be able to click Update in Decal and get the latest memlocs.

Ahhh.. just go out to http://www.decaldev.org and download the package. Downloading the .dll's will do you no good without the actual program.
