Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Is it possible to build your own custom routes in GA? For instance, on Moarsman Island, I want to build a route so I can click on the arrows to show the direction to the next item or thing I have to kill.

GoArrow wasn't designed to let you do this, but if you really want to, you can "hack" the settings file to make it load a route you want.
Basically, any time you want to load a custom route, you'd need to log out, modify your settings file, then log back in. In the settings file, find the <arrowTarget> node and replace its contents with:
<arrowTarget>
<route routeIndex="0" distance="0">
<loc id="-1" name="First Location" type="Custom" NS="51.2" EW="-42.5" />
<loc id="-1" name="Second Location" type="Custom" NS="50.8" EW="-45.1" />
<loc id="-1" name="Third Location" type="Custom" NS="52.4" EW="-48.7" />
<loc id="-1" name="Fourth Location" type="Custom" NS="52.0" EW="-41.5" />
<!-- etc... -->
</route>
</arrowTarget>
A few notes: all the locations should have id="-1". For NS: north is positive, south is negative; for EW: east is positive, west is negative. I don't have an AC subscription, so I can't test to see if this works. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

There is a much simplier way to do this. Copy the text below as a file on your c: drive (e.g. C:\lord.txt). Then in AC type @loadfile c:\lord.txt. Then you can click on the coordinates one at a time to do the quests. I would recommend a fellowship panel open before the text spams so there will be no other text present.

Ahhh.. yeah, that would be much more simple. Right now, I have my buff bot set up to respond to "rocks" and it will send you the location of all of them.

Yeah I guess that works too
It could get annoying when you have to scroll up to see the route, or have to re-paste that text... though less annoying than logging out and editing the settings file.
It would be nice if there were a way to set a custom route. If I still had an active AC account, and the time, I would probably implement it.

If you open a fellowship window and are the only one in the fellow, then you can scroll through the items one at a time and never have to reload or get any spam. I put the fellowship window right by the compass out of the way.
