Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Decal crashes to desktop after world selection - I've spent 15+ hours on this
|
Hi,
I am trying to get decal to work after about 2 years of not playing. I've gone through this and the AC Dev boards up to the first 4 pages looking for a fix for my problem. Everytime I try to load AC without decal, it works smoothly. Everytime I try to load AC with decal, it loads up, but crashes as soon as I select the server and it loads the AC connection screen.
So I've dug a little deeper and pinpointed the exact "Service" crashing me to the desktop. It's actually two services: Decal .net Lifetime Service and Decal Network Service.
When I disable these two services, I am able to start AC and can play, although there is no decal bar.
I've uninstalled with a special uninstaller that cleans the registry and reinstalled all .NET frameworks, but alas, it still says I do not have 1.0 installed. I even see it in the add/remove programs window along with the other .Net Frameworks. I think this is more than likely the problem. I've looked everywhere for this download and found it on download.com. I downloaded and tried it with and without the hotfix. It still doesn't show up in the decal export.
I've also tried uninstalling Dual Client with no luck.
Below is my up to date decal export:
