Alinco problem/question
|
I recently lost all of my customized Alinco search settings (only the things under the Search Rules tab, not the things under Trophies/Mobs/Salvage tabs). Everything defaulted back to normal after a crash.
My question is, is there a specific file I can make a backup of so that if this happens again, I can just paste it into the Alinco folder to get all of my custom searches back? I figured it would be something obvious, like an XML, but I can't seem to find anything.
Thanks for any help.

Alinco stores it's settings in your My Documents directory, under Decal Plugins/Alinco. Backing up this folder should probably do it, but I'm not the author so I can't guarantee it. Can't see any reason why this wouldn't work though.

Doh! I always thought it stored everything in Program Files\Decal Plugins\Alinco.
There's a "searchrules" XML in the directory you pointed out that is obviously what I need to back up. Thanks!

Vista doesn't allow programs to write to the 'Program Files' folder, so anything that claims to be vista compatible will save configuration files in your windows user profile. Usually in the 'My Documents' folder if it's stuff the user should be able to see and edit, or the 'Application Data' folder if only the program should be touching it.
