This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive. ~

Subject:Quest Timer Plug-in users - any way to get "unapproved quests" into database?
I'm considering how to deal with this.. I haven't had much time to go through the quests, which takes a while to do. I don't play AC any more so I'm not familiar with the new quests. For each quest that's submitted, I have to check that the triggers and timers are correct, which usually means searching on Maggie's or other sites for detailed info about the quest, plus check that it's a good and useful. Out of the past 500+ quests that were submitted, only ~100 were accepted, and many of those needed to be tweaked for things like naming consistency or triggers.
One thing I've been considering is to add a voting thumbs up/thumbs down for all of the submitted quests, so people can help me filter out the bad submissions.
Another option is to add more people as admins. Admins would need to have an attention to detail and the willingness to do all the verification and tweaking of the submitted quests to make sure that it has a good trigger, has a good name, and is a quest that people would actually want to track with Quest Timer (i.e., not a < 1 day timer, or a non-repeatable quest).
Once a quest has been approved, it'll remain in the list of downloaded quests in the plugin, even if it's later deleted from the server (this is kind of a bug). This means I usually try to be pretty sure about the quests I approve so as not to clutter up people's quest lists with bad quest timers.
One final option is to update the plugin to optionally show unapproved quests in the list of downloaded quests. This would take the most work and would require me to re-sub to AC to test the changes.
