Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Does MobTracker grab the spawn/mob data as I run by mobs or do I have to have the mobs in my list of "Tracked Mobs?"

It does not have to be in your list. It records ALL mobs sent to the client, whether you see them or not.
I have over 31 million mob 'sightings' in the database. The system could handle 10-100 times the users it has now if I could only get more people to run it.
If you want to see BIG maps generated with all that data, check out this:

Hi, Yew. --
I love MobTracker, very helpful with finding difficult-to-find mobs.
I was wondering two things, though: Will it ever be possible to view the spawns on your site, as opposed to an external application? (This isn't so big a deal, since I'm usually in AC when I'm looking for monsters anyway. Just seems like it could be more efficient with something web-based.)
Also, will it ever be possible to zoom in on the map, and perhaps link it to a coordinate grid? -- I've overlaid the map over GoArrow, which is a decent method, although a bit difficult to get everything to line up right, especially because I think the zoom size isn't quite the same between them.
I understand if there's perhaps limitations preventing you from doing these things, and you've done a great job in getting everything set up, so who am I to ask for anything more? -- But, if it were at all possible, it would make an already great program even better.
Thanks,
Jarehan
