Everytime I try to update the location database it will never complete. Is anyone else having this issue? I us McAfee for Firewall and Decal is set to full access. I don't understand why I can't update.

What stage does it hang on? (What does it say under the progress bar?)
Do you get any errors?
Which database are you updating from (CoD or ACSpedia)?
Can you try disabling the firewall to see if it is indeed the firewall blocking the updates?
And just for kicks, post an export.

For what it's worth, I installed the latest version, and updated the database last night around 5:00 PM(1700) Central time. Used CoD for the update site. Went smooth for me.

GoArrow Database Issue

The stage it hangs on is "Connecting" Never goes any further than that, I have to hit cancel manually. I then get this message when I hit cancel "<{ GoArrow }> Error downloading file [WebException]: The request was aborted: The request was canceled."
The Default URL im using is: http://ac.warcry.com/atlas/atlas_xml.php
Database is CoD. Everytime I put the above hyperlink for warcry in my IE7 browser it will never connect, I did this to try and see if the link was bad. I dont think the URL address is correct.
I also disabled the firewall, virus, and spyware protections.
I use three computers and all have the same issue.

The URL you posted is correct... it sounds like there is a connection problem between your computer and the CoD website. Can you get to http://ac.warcry.com ? How about http://cod.xrgaming.com/atlas/atlas_xml.php ? If neither of those works, what happens if you go to start/run and type: cmd /k tracert ac.warcry.com

My Windows XP with IE6 has no problems with it.

http://cod.warcry.com/atlas/atlas_xml.php works fine for me with XP and IE 7. It does take about a minute to load over highspeed connection though.

Yeah.. I'm on 384k, and it took a couple minutes to come up. I don't know if there's a timer built into go arrow, that'll error out if it doesn't get it fast enough.

I'm not really sure what would prevent you from loading that specific page if you can get to the rest of the CoD site...
Try loading it in IE7, and just wait until IE either loads the page or gives you an error message. If it gives you an error message, post it -- otherwise you're probably just not waiting long enough in AC for it to update.
Are the error messages you're getting from GoArrow happening because you clicked Cancel, or because it's timing out?

Try using this as the update URL: http://decal.acasylum.com/goarrow/update.php
That grabs the xml file from CoD's server and spits it back out (it's not a cached version, so it'll always be up to date).

It would appear that that is a bug caused by having an empty locations.xml file. Go to the GoArrow folder and delete locations.xml, then try updating again. I'll fix that bug for the next version

Sorry to say that didnt help. http://decal.acasylum.com/goarrow/update.php works fine loading in IE7. http://cod.warcry.com/atlas/atlas_xml.php will not load at all in IE7. I didnt think deleting the loactions.xml would work because I can't get it to load via IE7. When I load the non-cached update I get the .net frame work error I published above. Any other suggestions?

ok.. try this
Go to the GoArrow folder, copy settings.xml to the desktop.
Uninstall GoArrow and completely delete the GoArrow folder.
Reinstall GoArrow (don't copy settings.xml back yet).
Log into AC.
Go to the Update tab on GoArrow and update using http://decal.acasylum.com/goarrow/update.php as the update URL.
Log out of AC.
Copy settings.xml back to the GoArrow folder (overwriting the one that's there).
If that doesn't work, then I give up and you'll have to ask a friend to send you their locations.xml whenever you want to update.

Thanks Digero. I tried the path of least resistance and just changed the url to the new one you gave me b4 I tried an unistall. http://decal.acasylum.com/goarrow/update.php this address works just fine. My database is now up to date.

the new url doesnt stay when I log out of the game it defaults back to the original url. how can I get the new url to stick? I also have to delete the codlocations.xml b4 i upate otherwise I get .net framework error.
