Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Okay ... so this afternoon we added a new computer to my network.
I use a DSL modem, which is routed thru a HUB. 3 computers branch off of it.
Before the 3rd computer was added today, I had no problem connecting to AC on my main comp (second is wife's, never use AC on that one).
When we added the 3rd comp, I started to get IP adress conflictions.
The only way to get all 3 comps (that I Know of) to all have simoutaneous internet connection was to specifiy a constant IP adress for each computer.
Doing so seems to block off my connection to the AC server.
In this, it basically will connect to the glass vials, the first blue vial will fill, and then it stops.
the AC site said it's a firewall problem.
This is totally incorrect, as all AC clients and such are allowed by both firewalls, and even with both firewalls off, neither computer can connect to AC.
Anyone ever had this problem before?
Or have any idea what direction to take about it?
Any help would be much appreciated

Ok, a few things, did you set port forwarding in your router?
If not do so.
Keep your computers using the static IPs.
Set port forwarding such as:
Ports 9000-9006 to computer 1
Ports 9007-9013 to computer 2
Are you using ACDC to log in or the regulare turbine launcher?
If ACDC then in the S.Port box use any port between 9000 and 9006 on comp 1 and 9007 to 9013 on comp 2.
If not ACDC then go in the Asheron's Call folder in my documents and edit the UserPreferences.ini file.
Set:
UserSpecifiedPort=9001 for computer 1
UserSpecifiedPort=9007 for computer 2
