This is a continuation of another thread...I'll set up DHS hotkeys, immediately logoff, logon, and they are completely scrambled. I'm running Alinco, Agent Z, Quest Timer, and Sort It! I've used this combination for some time now with no problems. This all started this week (before patch day).

I have El Tank installed but only use it about half the time. I understand from Digero that DHS is goofy right now, and that El Tank will send it sureptitious messages...only if you're Aluvian...

Question: How can I prevent DHS from re-populating itself with the hotkeys I've deleted? What is the best workaround for this problem right now? DHS is useless like this, and in fact causes other problems as it sends random and nutty commands to my other plugins. I think I'll uninstall it via Decal until the next release.

DHS hotkeys are automatically added by plugins when you log in, so you can only really delete hotkeys for plugins you no longer use. Instead of removing them, disable them by unchecking the box next to the delete button.

I'm not sure about the scrambled settings problem... never heard of that happening before. Could you give a little more detail on what you mean by scrambled?

Sure - completely random hotkey assignments, both to events I had set up before logout, and to events that I have never assigned hotkeys to.

I enable El Tank in the Decal window and use it approx. 50% of my play time - when i do this I almost always disable Alinco, because they seem to 'clash' and each ID the same items, lag me down to a crawl, etc. because they are both calling for data from Decal at the same time.Well, a couple of times early this week I did leave Alinco on when I had El Tank on and that's when all this nonsense started.

Obviously I need to do a clean install of Decal (agaian) and go back to my previous method of never having those two enabled at the same time.

An annoying thing with alinco I've found is when it creates its hotkeys it automatically assigns a key combination to each hotkey, most of which are ones I dont want to have.

Agreed Zeg. I've deleted both Alinco and DHS, much happier now. I can't live without Agent Z these days.

The ONE THING I keep missing is the ability to assign the letter 'H' to Heal, using a heal kit. Alinco did this for me, as have various other plugins over the years, Healer and One Touch Healing being notables.

SortIt! does this, but you must assign a 'boss' key such as Alt+H, Ctrl+H, of Shift+H. I know this is so picky, whiney, and asinine, but somehow having to hit two keys to heal just doesn't feel as good as hitting the H key alone, as I've become so used to it.

My favorite and most-played character type is a melee, and the ability to hit a key to heal is just huge for those of us still left.

If (when maybe?) I could write one Decal plugin, it would be called Medic and would do just a few very simple things:

INITIALIZATION:
1) The plugin contains a list or database of all current healing kits/health potions/stamina potions/mana potions in the game

USER-DEFINED VARIABLES (global across all characters)
1) Allow the user to assign one hotkey (NOT using DHS) to scan health/stamina/mana vitals
2) Allow the user to toggle on/off health check/stamina check/mana check
3) Allow the user to add H/S/M items for future patch compatibility
4) Allow the user to set thresholds for Use Item for Healing Kits/Health Potions/Stamina Potions/Mana Potions as a percentage of maximum levels - example - healing kit 85%/health potion 60%/stamina potion 40%/mana potion 50%

FUNCTIONALITY:
1) Upon hitting the assigned hotkey, the plugin checks the characters' H/S/M levels for those that are toggled ON
2) Compares the current level to the user-defined threshold level
3) If the current level is <= the threshold level (as a percentage of (buffed) maximum), the plugin uses the appropriate item from the database, starting with the item that provides the MOST H/S/M recovery per use

That's it, (following the above example), as you are hunting, you hit 'H' and Medic uses a health potion if your health is under 60% or a healing kit if it's under 85%. If you have Check Stamina toggled on, it also checks your stam and uses a stam potion, ration, etc. if your stam is under 40%. Same with mana. Most melees won't have Check Mana toggled on, but that's user preference.

I have this very program written in AC Tool and it's very handy. But of course you can only run one AC Tool macro at a time, and the response is not as snappy as a 'real' Decal plugin. I have an option to perform these functions manually or automatically as well.

The most important thing I would add to the above plugin is NOTHING ELSE!!!! Short, simple, sweet, NO bloat. Just keep me alive, baby!

ELTank doesn't interface with DHS at all.

Its not that Tank interfaces with DHS, but rather that a bug in DHS doesn't play well with simulated keystrokes, according to Digero.

Thats possible. I never have DHS on, and the only plugin I use is ELTank so I'd not see it.
