Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

weird decal problem

Hey all, I have a weird decal problem for which I haven't been able to find a solution either here or on the vault forums.
My current computer specs are :
AMD Athlont 62 3200+
2 Gig OCZ RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6800 using detonator 84.21 drivers.
Windows XP Pro SP2
I have installed everything for decal from the reqs page, and decal runs fine if it's by itself.
But when I add a plugin, such as lifetank or eltank 3 things happen.
1. My computer craaaawwwls. It sucks up 100% resources so that I have to do a hard reboot to get my computer back if I try to alt tab out to force quit it for being so slow in the first place.
2. The little 'square' button in the decal bar that switches between displaying only the plugin icon and the plugin name is blacked out. I can still click on it and it'll do it but it's just a black square block on my screen. This doesnt happen if no plugins are loaded.
3. The tabs, icons, options for the plugins display incorrectly. For instance the radio buttons in lifetank to disable/enable which spells yo uwant to cast, there's nothing next to it. technically it's still there and if i click on it it doesn't seem like it's doing anything but it does do it (which convinces me it's a display issue). This obviously makes it almost impossible to actually work with the plugin.
So i was wondering what would the solution be? Is it a known problem with geforce 6800 cards? On my friend's comp with an ultra sucky vid card it doesn't have any problems.

I have a 6800 Go and Decal works fine for me. Try a different set of drivers and make sure you're not forcing antialiasing, it mucks up Decal.
