I spoke to Faile earlier and it's increasingly unlikely that he will be returning to BS/2 development. Real life with any computer games is proving to be very enjoyable to him (yeah, I don't get it either  ) and jumping back in is nowhere near the top of his to-do list.
This is not an official "Faile asked me to post this" update. This is just what he mentioned to me and I felt I'd share with any BS/2 hold-outs. It's time to move on and learn to use ElTank or FindIt! (or the others I'm unaware of).
If you are so inclined, please don't spam him with requests or begging (I was enough of an annoyance, I'm sure). If you want to show your support post it here, I'm sure he'll see it.
I'm going to go cry into my pillow now.

That's really too bad, but I understand why he wouldn't want to mess with it any more. He hasn't played AC1 in years, and I know his work keeps him very busy.
SO, consider this a huge Thank You Faile for developing and updating the original version of Bandit Sight 2, it was very much appreciated. I would love to have a new version, but since I only log in once or twice a month now I hardly have any real justification for begging  . The next time I'm in town, I owe you dinner. You deserve it  .

Well, that is sad news indeed. I think over the years, I have gotten as much enjoyment from editing BS/2 profiles as I have from actually playing the game. No other plugin gave you as much control over searches.
El Tank is the best we have right now, but you have to run the entire El Tank program to use the tracking. Find It! is abysmal.
All I can say is - Thank you, Faile, for providing and supporting Bandit Sight and Bandit Chat for as long as you did. Can you imagine being so dedicated and conscientious that you would continue to support a plugin for years after you quit playing the game?

One of the reasons many plugins where not updated, was the massive change to the worldfilter and the loss of impfilter. So every plugin that dealt items, had to be major changes. Many of the plugin writers have moved to new endevors. The plugin code even it available needs significant changes and most have little or no documentation of where those changes will be needed.
I salute Elgart for maintaining El Tank and keeping it running through all the Decal changes.

Rascal, have you updated recently. I believe that bug is now fixed. If not, I need to look at it again.
I will be doing a new release in the next few days, I'm testing it now, but basically it adds finer control of what weapons it detects (taking into account variance and elemental mods), as well as adding damage ratings for weapons, and optimal iron/granite tinks.
