Last night every major offered on trade chat was a life tank find - wow they are doing something good there. Makes the withouts like me feel even more isolated and hopeless in this game.

Wrong. LTx is designed for UCM and is run for longer periods of time than ELTank. More time spent hunting/looting = more majors.
ELTank actually loots a LOT faster than LTx.

Nope, an unfair advantage is one thats not available to everyone. It's YOUR choice not to use the auto looting/combat even though it's fully permitted by Turbines rules. It's not even a loop hole, it's clearly worded so that ONLY Unattended combat is disallowed, be that with the aid of a plugin or not.

I just hate leaving posts containing incorrect statements uncorrected. I always get the feeling someone else will come along and read it getting the wrong information. It's a breading ground for people to get the wrong ideas about whats legal and what isn't.

Absolutely, I was even going so make a suggestion that El-Tank slows its looting down to a speed nearer to that of Lifetank, so I can manually check some Items while Tank is auto chacking them.
Elgarl, dont take any bashing of any Kind!! there are alot of us that worship you for the work you have done, and continue to do, to make our gaming experience that little bit better.

I will weigh in here ... as someone who has HATED (yes, I said hated) the auto combat/loot programs since they came out. Yes, I know when ElTank first came out, UCM WAS allowed. Yes, I know many try to circumvent Elgar's combat-to-noncombat "timer" (some succeed) to get around the CoC stating UCM is not allowed.
Since ElTank helps me with my allegiance in many ways - from helping to find lost bods for members, to helping them plan routes, to tracking messages when I have to be afk - I have started to use ElTank.
I use Tank on "buff only" even in combat. I do this because quite frequently I will end up with tells to respond to - or get really involved fighting critters and just flat out forget to pay attention to my health (I hate vitae with a passion). LifeTank WAS designed specifically for UCM - it is what the "chain" allegiances used. I will admit, I DID download it, install it, and take a look at it. To be honest, I was appalled at this program. I understand and realize that people should be allowed to make choices. To continue to "market" this program which is so obviously designed to help people circumvent the CoC makes me wonder how it "fits in" to the ethics Decal folks are supposed to adhere to. After taking a long look at Lifetank (and trying it), I uninstalled it AND the downloaded file from my computer.
I've not bothered to fully program ElTank for looting - I like to look at things myself  Yes, it will tell me of majors/minors or spells I don't know - basically because it's nice to know something might be of interest. I don't bother to read all of its output, I just note there is red text with this or that corpse, and look for what the text might belong to (yes, I know it will do it all for me, but I like to do it myself!!).
Will I keep ElTank on my system when other plugins I normally used are again available? I honestly cannot answer that. A lot will depend on lag - I'm one of those unfortunate souls still "stuck" with dialup service. Have I died when using ElTank? You bet, and it reminds me to PAY ATTENTION!

El tank loots faster than lifetank
Lifetank kills faster than EL tank, at least from an archer standpoint
For a mage, theyre about the same
Just my opinion at least

After macroing 6 accounts at once before TOD I can confirm LT loots 2-3x faster then eltank. After TOD I dunno.

Ive been running them both sence they both came out well even before
think tank was called El Drain hmm could be wrong there its been years LifeTank was LifeSlurper
El Tank is faster Looting.
Life Tank is faster Salvaging
El Tank Kill's faster In all modes if you set it up the way that Elgar has posted..
The one big thing i see Life Tank over El Tank is the ability to Continous buff mode in Life Tank but thats not the topic is it...

I have been an El Tank fan since the first releases: it is fast, it is complete, it is stable and really easy to configure.
I loved it for long, and would still use it if it wasn't for the size of the plugin and the ability to use it on long runs: being so complete means also that on 12+ hours runs it gets slower, in my opinion.
But for ingame uses it is and will always be the best plugin to use!

Well if eltank magically got faster due to removing all the mounds of crowded\unneeded code then its possible. Maybe the new guy who took over LT doesnt know how to keep it as fast as before because I know for a fact before TOD LT > ELT in looting. The people who think different obviously never let them run next to eachother or on 2 diff accts to see who ended up with all the majors.

I run both and alternate back and forth, turning them off and on for kicks. Some things I like about each, Lifetank has always appeared faster for me for both mages, melee whether I am looting or killing. Though it is a small difference, it is noticeable.

I tried out LT last night and noticed that it did not loot a major on at least 2 occasions. It correctly identified the major, but it left it on the corpse.
This was within about 3 hours of usage.
I haven't experienced this with ET.
