OK so I spent 4 years as an anti-, while I ran 22 non-UCM plugins. I never even LOOKED at El Tank, until Decal3 Alpha3 came out. I can say unabashedly that I am now a fan.
My hat is off to Elgar Lightfoot. What a smooth, polished piece of work. As one poster said recently, "El Tank just flat WORKS!". This plugin does SO many things, and does them so well, it makes all other plugins look like a hammered fender. I do like to play without assistance but it's hard to resist hitting that 'ol Pause key, because El Tank is a real kick to play Asheron's Call with.
Congratulations, ElgarL, you have redefined the word "finished" with your display of talent and skill, as the creator of El Tank.

I'll add my kodos as well elgar. I never used or even looked at Eltank before decal3. I used a veriaty of plugins but most of them are now dead or MIA. however TANK covers 90% of what I was useing before in one nice neat package. dont have much use for the combat macro portion (toyed around with it for a few sessions but manual is generaly more effecent) but the rest of it is golden. nice work.

I don't think anyone can dispute that there is a significant part of the population that prefers a single do-everything device over several special-purpose devices. this, of course, extends to plugins too, with ElTank being pretty much the best do-everything plugin out there.
I do find it odd, though, to see such a glowing review from Chazcon, even though ElTank's authorization system forces you to upgrade to the newest versions even if you don't want to. I had thought that Chazcon preferred to be able to use old versions while developers "play with their code". It certainly sends a mixed message.
