Subject: MakeIt & Roasted Barley???
Has anyone else been having a problem with making the Roasted Barley for the Beers??? It is needed for the Bobo's Stout and the Apothecary Zongo's Stout.

When MakeIt comes to making these, it strolls thru EVERYTHING other than this item. It will make ONE then stop for 20+ seconds. Then make another, and if I had enough, Plain Barley, it would continue this thru-out the rest of the day. WITHOUT counting the "attempts".

Below is the line in the .XML reciepe file that is supposed to do it.

Remember that other than THIS ONE ITEM.... EVERYTHING works Great!!! No Pauses, etc.

<Begin Code Lines>

<Recipe name="Roasted Barley" list="Roasted Barley" use="Baking Pan" on="Plain Barley" skill="Cooking" diff="??" burden="??" resttype="??" restore="??" cost="??" desc="??" verified="??"/>

<End Code Lines>

Oh just in case you are dieing to ask, yes I tested this under the Receipe Tab in MakeIt and it works Great without pauses.... The faster I click the "test" button, the faster the above item is made.... and yes as far as I can see, the spelling is correct.

Please HELP!!! This is the only thing that I have really had to ask about.... YES!! I asked before but I ended up figuring it all out and was rather pleased with that too, but this is just slipping right over me.... GAWD I hope it is a simple thing that is wrong, not something that is a Alpha 4 or 5 or what ever thing....

Thanks in advance

I made quite a bit of beer over the weekend, no hangup as you describe.

Most often, this is caused by a difference in the name of the item actually being created from that in the recipe, it is not always obvious. Spelling/spaces/capitalization all matter. What happens is the item gets created, Make It! is waiting for an item of that name to be added to inventory. It never sees it (or it gets added with a name that Make It! was not expecting) and Make It! times out and retries. Make sure the recipe where it is being used has it spelled EXACTLY the same as the line with the recipe that creates it.

Now for the good news.
Next version of Make It! the Recipe tab will have a new button "Add to XML" so that the recipe for whatever item you just made using the test button will be added to the xml. There will also be buttons to add tool and add base ingredient. This will get rid of most of the reasons for editting the recipe file.

Next version will also come with an empty recipe file (except for tools and some base ingredients). There will be a download available of a more complete recipe file that will include the dispell potion and beer recipes.

P.S... I saw you message in another thread with a more complete list. I note that Dark Wort and Roasted Barley both appear in the xml twice. I don't know if this will cause problems or not.
