Subject: I've noticed everyone keeps refering people to the Decal Support pages
I've noticed everyone keeps refering people to the Decal Support pages for Decal plug in related questions. The way I see it is there is a possibility someone on here may know the answer to that question and if so, then it saves the devs from having to find the answer to a basic question and they can get Decal and all of it's plugin's bug free faster.

I'm referring people to their respective forums.

For Decal issues, they should check the Decal forums.

For ACDualClient issues, they should check the ACDualClient forums.

For ELTank issues, they should check the ELTank forums..

etc... you get the idea.

The reasons I say this are many... mainly because:

1) it keeps support requests to 1 location which makes it easier to find for the author AND the users seeking support (as long as they can use a search function if the board implements one)

2) Chances are, most questions have already been asked on the proper support forum and as long as you can use the search function, the you should be able to relatively quickly find the answer.

3) provided that your answer IS unique, then it will make the author aware of it, and if they have a solution then it can be posted to the same board for the next user who has the same issue.

It's just overall better to try to keep the SUPPORT to their proper forums.

Notice the key word is support. Discussions are totally different, and if you want to discuss applications or plugins, then there are many places in which that can be done. Here being one of them. Just try to keep the SUPPORT of those plugins and applications to their proper places which would be, for the benefit of everyone, the support forums set up by the developers of those plugins/applications.

As I also said in a previous thread, if the plugin/application does not have their own support forums, then here would be the next logical choice, but it should only be use AFTER the user has verified that the author does not have their own support forums.

But be that as it may, not everyone is disatisfied with how this forum works, thus people still come here FIRST and ask questions.

My argument has nothing to do with dis-satisfaction..

It has everything to do with the collection of information pertaining to a specific application or plugin, and where that information is best kept.. I like to keep all ACDualClient related questions on the ACDualClient support forums because it makes a nice little searchable database for questions and answers. If a question is asked here and not there, then I either have to "mirror" the information, or I just ignore it and hope that someone is nice enough to do it for me.

It creates extra work where none is needed if they just would have posted/read the proper support forum in the first place.

Like Drakier, I would prefer that people post their questins for Castaway on the Castaway forum. Many questions have been answered there, FAQ's exists, online manual exists, all that stuff. Not saying questions about Castaway posted here won't get answered, they will, just not the main place I prefer support.
