Actually didn't care much when he died for some odd reason.

I did tear up a bit when I played Mass effect 3. I am that much of a geek.

That part didn't bother me but when Picard is being tortured by the Cardasian that bothered me, not so much that I am older but ya, Kirk took way to long to die.

Oh I know all about Picards torture. Grew up on The Next Generation. But I also grew up on the original series because of my mom. She loved it and that is where my scifi love started so the death scene is sentimental.

I used to watch TOS in the 80's so I have some of the same attachements to it but to be fair it was already old compared to say Airwolf and Dukes of Hazards which were the other shows I watched at the time.

I used to watch TOS Saturday mornings at my Grandmothers place when I was a small kid never did clue in to the fact that my Grand Dad was a Sci-Fi geek until years later.

It's so family friendly by the time Generations had come out I'd been exposed to Robocop and a slew of Van Damn and Schwarzenegger films so I was probably looking for a bit more from the movies.

I think my favorite is probably First Contact or Nemisis.

Just watched First Contact tonight for about the 80th time and I love when Data gets Angry.

But I digress I grew up on the same things and the family friend Star Trek was kinda kiddie but I loved the sci fi of it all and the fact that my family would watch it with me. We didn't have a lot of family stuff but Star Trek was always family time.
