In the one place she knew she could hide something. Her ass?

"I left my ticket there, and it’s somewhere safe that only I know about,” she told the newspaper through a Creole-speaking translator.

from what i understand she bought tickets for a pool of her workers and the winning ticket happens to coincidentally be a ticket she bought just for herself. rolling_eyes

she prolly figures (maybe rightly so) that her coworkers would kill her and take the ticket at this point.

For group lottery the common practice is to copy all the tickets and a list of names and hand them out to everyone before the drawing.

I've done those before. I didn't even care about them so I didn't pay attention, but I knew if a ticket won, the mob of people who did pay attention would make sure winnings were split. That's unless everyone was like me, which is doubtful since 3/4ths of those people were dumb, and the $ value per ticket on a group going for a relatively small pot is also extremely dumb.

how is she working at macdonald's if she can't even speak English?...

and wtf would she tell people it was hidden there. they aren't that big of buildings...someone could break in and sweep through the place in 10-15 minutes easy. hope they have a good security system lol, because someone is going to try.

isn't there a time limit to turn in the ticket? Like a year or something?

what happens if the ticket is never turned in? Do the other winners get that share?

yes you have 1 year to claim it, and any unclaimed prize is returned to the states, iirc. in this case i would think that the other two get their shares, and the 3rd portion, if unclaimed, would be returned as if it were a sep pot.

I hope those co-workers that she's trying to screw tear every inch of the restaurant apart, find the ticket, and turn it in. Seriously, who takes a lottery ticket and stashes it at their workplace?

It varies by state. Maryland happens to have a 182 day limit (odd number).
