I've never heard anything bad about them, they seem to get pretty good marks in consumer reports as well.

Subaru are cool but you pay a price premium for Subaru, I wouldnt buy a used Subaru without any factory warranty left because parts are outrageous.

I am not a fan of pretty much any used Japanese import anymore after the factory warranty is gone just because the cost of parts are double/triple domestic cars.

I have learned that from my own personal experiences working on asian imports, they run forever but when they break, get ready to spend some cash on parts.

asian/japanese import is a generalized term I know many cars are built in the states, but they still charge a imported price premium.

Such a huge range of popularity on imports, you can't be serious when you say that parts are double or triple what they cost for domestics. You sound like Zoolander... parts are... they're... THREE TIMES the cost!

many times the parts are still made on the other side of the ocean, that costs money to ship here.
especially dealer only parts.
