I"m thinking about surprising my youngest son. If he kills himself on it, of course I will never forgive myself.

I dont think you can drive a 250cc on the freeway.

depends on age? minimum is 125, anyone 6' or above should ride a 250cc, 250cc is the bare minimum on a free way and it works well

He is 6' 2". I learned years ago on a scooter. I m thinking this Kawasaki 250 R looks good and might serve the purpose if you can sit upright on it. I cant tell if it is an upright sit or a lean over http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/product-specifications.aspx?id=553

It looks like a sit up to me

The budget is definitely less than $5k I think it gets 50 plus mpg, too

That is a must for a new rider, Sinlock. I watched his eyes beam when he sat on my street triple R . I think the Triumph America would be too much bike for him.

Yeah keep it smaller to start. Most learn on dirt bikes where I grew up.

250 is plenty on in town freeways.

The attorney living in the apt next to me owns one of those Bonzo. Nothing says old man more than a 3 wheeler.
