doesn't seem like race was a factor, they knew the motive.
in this case, Trayvon's race was likely a factor in Zimmerman's decision process in perceiving him as a threat.

I think young unknown male hiding his face walking where crimes had been a problem had a little more to do with it than race. Sadly little things like facts and science escape your average liberal. (The ignorant and stupid ones anyway; the evil ones know exactly what is going on, and approve.)
But yes; the fact that young black males do around 58% of the crimes might have been part of it. I pity the other 42% that have to put up with the suspicion the other 58% bring on them.

A quick look; something you never bothered to do; says this.
A United States Department of Justice report which surveyed homicide statistics between 1974 and 2004 stated that of the crimes surveyed, 52.2% of the offenders were Black, 45.8% were White, and 2% were Other Races. Of the victims in those same crimes, 50.9% were White, 46.9% were Black, and 2.1% were Other Races. The report further stated that "most murders are intraracial" with 86% of White murders committed by Whites, and 94% of Black murders committed by Blacks.[20] However, the document does not provide any details concerning what races or ethnicities are included in the designations "White", "Black", or "Other Races".
That is just killings. Remember, blacks are only 12% of the population. What is sad is that by protecting these thugs they increase the likelihood of a black person being a victim. Most of the victims of black crime are other blacks. What I see is the racist liberals trying to keep blacks in fear and poverty for their own political benefit. It might just be a power grab by a heartless demagogies. While that is not racist it does not matter much to the victims.
