Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

Dodgers Get a little Magic to come LA Times article The McCourt nightmare is over. Although I think he retained ownership of the parking lot.

I thought Magic was a better businessman than this. Two billion for a team that is worth no more than 800 million tops. The stadium sucks. They need players. A Ferrari is great, but if it sits in the garage because you can't afford gas what good is it.

Man, you dont know The Dodgers. You may know the Red Sox. Chavez Ravine is an enchanting place for a ball game. I agree he overpaid, but so what? The Dodgers got the antithesis of mc Court. He will make a lot of money

One problem with this Mo is when they try and entice new players. They won't have the money to do so. The fans that go there will be paying a premium for everything. Over paying. I think they did a disservice to their fans by paying this much. McCourt was going to have to sell per court order. They could have bought it for much less and kept money to put into the stadium. I am surprised that MLB allowed this to be done. They are hamstringing the Dodgers for years to come. They are going to get a new TV deal but it no way will compensate for their folly of over paying. Just my opinion.

Wow, $2 billion.
I bet part of the value of this deal will be the combined marketing power of the Dogder brand and Magic Johnson. This duo should be able to convince California taxpayers to shell out boatloads of money to help Magic make even more money on the Dodgers.
