i was tested at ~140 as a child. most of my immediate WASP family tested into the 130-140 range.
if i'm considered smart, i don't feel it. i struggle with remedial math classes and math involved sciences. mabye i have a learning disability or something.

I've taken about 3 IQ tests and get around the 140-150 mark, depending on which test it was. An online test that I took gave me a score of 154, but since it was an online test, I'm not sure just how accurate it was. *shrug* People I work with think I'm pretty smart, have a pretty good memory, etc, but I certainly don't act superior.
An IQ "breakdown":
115-124 - Above average (e.g., university students)
125-134 - Gifted (e.g., post-graduate students)
135-144 - Highly gifted (e.g., intellectuals)
145-154 - Genius (e.g., professors)
155-164 - Genius (e.g., Nobel Prize winners)
165-179 - High genius
180-200 - Highest genius

I will probably give my kids (one day) some fake IQ test that tells them that they're really smart so that they get a confidence booster. If the kid thinks he's smart, he won't be scared to take on difficult challenges. If he takes on more difficult challenges, he'll get smarter / more capable. Seems like a win-win scenario.

I've taken about 3 IQ tests and get around the 140-150 mark, depending on which test it was. An online test that I took gave me a score of 154, but since it was an online test, I'm not sure just how accurate it was. *shrug* People I work with think I'm pretty smart, have a pretty good memory, etc, but I certainly don't act superior.
An IQ "breakdown":
115-124 - Above average (e.g., university students)
125-134 - Gifted (e.g., post-graduate students)
135-144 - Highly gifted (e.g., intellectuals)
145-154 - Genius (e.g., professors)
155-164 - Genius (e.g., Nobel Prize winners)
165-179 - High genius
180-200 - Highest genius
>200 - "Unmeasurable genius"
That list really is laughable. There is no way you need to have any given IQ other than "enough to go through grad and post-grad courses" to become a professor, for example. Genius my ass.
Since everyone on ACF has a 160+ IQ, it's hard to say who really has the highest.

I myself find the older posters leaving the most insight.
I have no idea what an IQ test is even trying to get at... it seems most of the people with high iq's are not doing too much in their lives... maybe it hinders you in life. You look at things and think everything in life is so simple to solve... people are just stupid. You overlook the really complicated thing... people. Relations are messy and honestly cause all the problems in the world... you need to be a master in human relationships to accomplish anything.
But I would probably be weary of anyone claiming to be a genius off topic.
