He asked what happened in the end of ME3. My understanding is fat fanbois are mad because it has a FFVII style ending where it's not really clear what acutally happened. I said but lamer because apparently the ending is FFVII-style but lamer.

My understanding is people are mad about the ME3 ending because it doesn't really tell you what happens to anyone. That is very much like the FF7 ending was.

The game itself is incredible up until the ending. Some of the sequences are nothing short of genius, and the game can force some truly wrenching choices on you.
Its the last 10 minutes where things get iffy.

Yeah i've pretty much played up to the last set of missions.. I could play up till that last iffy 10 minutes. and leave it there..
I think the big issue for the ending is that rather than have a set ending that played out according to earlier choices, the ending is a result of a choice you make in the last 10 minutes, slightly modified by a resource collection mechanic.
