Oh, and I also hate when people use "god said so" as a reason for anything.
In short, I hate religious nut bags, American Taliban and their ilk. Has nothing to do with their religion, has everything to do with them trying to force me to follow the tenets of their particular faith.

We all have external pressures both real and imagined that shape our behavior.
Why do you have such an aversion to the idea of God?
How is believing in God any different than believing in justice or purpose?

I never said I hate people who do me ill, or that I don't love people who do good things for me. It usually doesn't really matter either way honestly. Crap done to or for me has little effect on me these days. Been there, done that, got bored, stopped paying attention.

I don't know that I'd say it's indicative of 'most' of them, but I'd agree that there are quite a few Christians who are good people. Good people come from all walks of life. An Atheist is a person without a belief in a God - hence the name 'A' without 'theist' belief in God. A Theist is a person with a belief in a God an Atheist is a person without a belief in a God.
How does one go about challenge the lack of something?
A lot of people confuse atheism with a specific belief that there is no God of any kind, which (I think, at least, though I've neither seen nor heard the term used) would be anti-theist.
Believing that something doesn't exist, vs. not believing that something does exist, are two VERY different things.

Christians think there is an unseen all powerful man that created everything and gave us life.
Current scientific belief is somehow mud gained life and eventually even gained consciousness.
Both ideas are ridiculous and completely unprovable at this point in history,but both sides act like their sides make perfect sense and the others are obviously blind and stupid.What is probably closest to the truth is we are all fools trying to explain something we can't,"Why am I here?".
