I don't keep up with either of those guys teams/conference, so not really up on their play or anything, but you would think that if RG3 won the Heisman over Luck, both QB's, why would the #2 be a better prospect?

RG3 had a better team around him offensively and put up better numbers on an easier schedule.

Heisman's dont really translate to nfl star power.

Example look at the 2 OU qb's that won Heismans, neither one are playing in the NFL.

Although one is the offensive coordinator at OU now.

There is a huge huge huge difference between college and NFL. Being the number 1 anything in college doesnt equate to the number 1 anything in the NFL. Completely different systems.

Other than Cam Newton(and it's too early to say if he'll do that again)...

Whose the last Heisman Trophy winner to have an NFL impact?

Carson Palmer had two good years.
Sam Bradford has been pretty mediocre.

Ricky Williams in 1998?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/112364-where-have-all-the-heisman-trophy-winners-gone-in-the-nfl

Have you ever been watching your favorite college football or NFL team and wonder what ever happened to all those great Heisman Trophy winners? Ever wonder what happened to great college players like Eric Crouch, Jason White, Chris Weinke, or Ron Dayne?

Well since 1992 Heisman Trophy winners have struggled mightily in the NFL. Some have never played a down in the NFL. No Heisman Trophy winner since 1992 has won a Super Bowl, or been named conference, or NFL player of the year. Also, only four players have played in a Pro Bowl. Just two players have been named rookie of the year and taken All-Pro honors.

So now you have to be asking, "What did happen to all those guys then?" Well, now I will tell you all about them in this slideshow.

Sam Bradford problem is the Rams, he gets sacked and hit all the time. I am surprised he hasnt taken more injuries.

Hopefully Fisher fixes the Rams.

Not that I root for the Rams, I just like Sam Bradford as a person and as a player.

ya, it doesn't translate at all.
PLUS, RG3 didn't face much in the form of Defense.
then again, neither did Luck, well, except for his 2 losses of course.

I think, if he can stay healthy, RG3 will be an exception to the Heisman failures.

Possibly so. He has a canon for an arm and exceptional athletic ability.

I think it's debated since RG3 has better overall stats, but generally it's because Luck ran pro-style offense which is more common in the NFL and RG3 ran shotgun and now will be expected to adapt to pro-style.

Mechanics, intangibles, style of offense, decision making, physical measurables.... There are a lot of things to consider when a kid transitions to the pros.
