I don't want a tablet but I would like an e-reader. I can't stand reading an actual book anymore and prefer everything be on a screen. I would like to be able to access a browser flash based game called Lord of Ultima with it. That is a luxury feature for me. If that isn't possible to find, what are the good readers with color out there right now?

Anything that can play Flash is pretty much a tablet. Kindle Fire has Flash support, the 7 inch size is nice for reading books. And it can run a lot of apps. So pretty nice for $200.

But I have to say, as someone that has gone back and forth more than once between an e-ink reader and LCD tablet. The e-ink readers wins hands down for reading books. e-ink is much more relaxing on the eyes to read for long periods, you can read all day long without having to worry about battery life. And it's much lighter, so more comfortable that way too.

If possible, I'd say get an $80 Kindle e-ink reader for books and a $200 Kindle Fire for games/videos etc.

It's the same screen (without the touch interface).

Just curious, what is it you don't like about it?

I love my iPad for reading books. I didn't think I could read books on them then tried it on my iPhone for a book or two I wanted to read that weren't at the store when I was looking.

Ended up not bothering me at all on my phone, which I was surprised about. Just got an iPad2 a month ago and enjoy it quite a bit.

I did change it so the background was black and the text white, didn't enjoy it with the background white and text black. I don't read in sunlight though, that probably is hard with the shiny screen, usually read inside. Never had an issue with battery life, have read for a full workday and still had over half the battery left.

Downside of no flash on the iPad though. I also hate the mobile google docs interface, tried switching to the normal web interface on the iPad and it just errors out sad .

I like my Kindle fire for reading but hate that I have to charge it every other day. I always forget when I want to read...

Do me a favor and see if you can get Lord of Ultima to run on the Kindle Fire? grin If it loads, I'll pick one up this weekend.

Sorry dude. I was able to register and login without issue, but when I hit play new game, it just sat at the loading screen (0%) forever.
