What do you think that the lack of responses means?

I never heard of it came out in 2011 but apparently it was a big hit in england.

also at that time I had a crappy computer, so pc gaming wasnt something I kept up with.

Got it and am enjoying it. I like the future-tech/continent remodeling nature of it. It has a pretty wide range of needs/fulfillment too which can be a pain but makes for pretty varied game play.

I hadn't heard much about the franchise before this one but apparently it has quite the following. I tried this one on a whim to scratch that city sim/management itch and it did a great job.

I will give it a whirl I am tired of the starting as caveman tech strategy games.
You dont see many strategy games that does future tech.

downloading it now.

I like it doing a continuous play.
So far it only took me about 20 restarts to get a colony of the ground that doesn't run its self into the ground.

you need lots of house's I have learned.

I found the campaign is a great learning aid. Some of it is redundant and/or doesn't apply to all play styles but it is a good way to learn it plus it unlocks stuff I think.

Oh and it helps to spread out. Put all your industry on one island and your food and agricultural on another then a huge population center somewhere else. It is easy enough to setup freighters to auto shuffle the goods and it keeps people from getting pissed about pollution or, even worse, running out of room to build your population center.
