I've done it a couple of times. Usually it would be something like i had a horrible sunburn and just plain didnt want to wear a bra/ scratchy clothes that day so i'd call in, when really there was no reason i couldnt have gone in.

I get something like 10 sick days per year. At the end of every year (based on hire date), the sick day balance is cut in half and banked. I may take a personal day when I'm not drop down sick, but I tend to bank more than I take.
