Dwight update: The Bulls emerge as Orlando's preferred trading partner, but not without commitment from Howard. #NBA goo.gl/nUdzC

Orlando wants to trade Dwight here, but he doesn't want to sign an extension (dumb ass)

another tidbit:

SI.com NBA writer Chris Mannix reports that the rumored deal for Dwight Howard to the Oklahoma City Thunder for both James Harden and Serge Ibaka could provide teams a benchmark for what the Magic want in return for their superstar center. That price appears to be too high even for the Thunder who are not on the list of teams that Howard would reportedly consider resigning with at the end of the season. So trading two of their core players for a rest of the season rental doesn't seem too appealing even if combining Howard with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook would instantly make Oklahoma City the favorites to win the championship.

fck that deal. okc is already the favorite to win the west, with those two guys playing a big role in it.

howard is not worth both harden and ibaka.

They can't really trade Jeremy Lin, he's on a 1 year $700,000 deal. You can only trade for equal salary.

Dallas is on Dwights list of teams that he wants to go to. Mark Cuban is certainly looking ahead to some big moves because he knows the current team is not a contender. Cuban is savvy and smart, so if he doesn't make moves now he's likely to be doing something in the offseason. Not sure exactly what.

That trade wasn't right before the trade deadline. Significant mid season trades rarely happen.

But this is different. Dwight either is traded now or he walks in FA, thats what everyone thinks will happen. The Magic aren't going to let him walk for nothing, they want to get something back...either draft picks, cap space or legit players to build around.

Bulls would start to suck if they got DH. too much would be needed to get him, not worth depleting the bench.

No team with Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose on it could suck. The thing is, finding a legit starting Pg/C combo is the hardest thing to do in the league. Finding some wing players is easy. Finding role players is easy. They're a dime a dozen. It would suck to give up my man Lu and Noah but...you have to do it if you're a GM. Can't pass up the best PG/C combo the NBA has seen in decades.

All you fans trying to dream up trade scenarios where your team can land a star point guard by just trading away a rack of shootaround basketballs — or Luke Walton — we have another name to consider.

Brandon Jennings.

They are rethinking everything in Milwaukee and injured center Andrew Bogut was already on the rumored trade list. But the Bucks are listening to offers for their quick young point guard, reports Sam Amick at Sports Illustrated

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/12/report-brandon-jennings-on-the-trade-block-for-right-price/

----------------------------

Dwight Howard will have interest in joining the Clippers and Heat, according to two sources.

Howard, who reportedly prefers to enter free agency, would need to go to those teams via trade due to cap issues.

----------------------------

The Blazers and Clips are discussing a deal that would send Jamal Crawford to L.A. for Eric Bledsoe and Ryan Gomes, sources say.

-----------------------------

John Shannon shocked listeners of Prime Time Sports Friday saying Raps GM Glen Grunwald said 'no' to a trade that would’ve sent Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash to Toronto for Vince Carter and Antonio Davis.

In hindsight, such a trade looks like a huge missed opportunity for the Raptors since Nash is the greatest basketball player to ever come out of Canada and has since gone on to win back-to-back MVPs for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.

Nowitzki won an MVP himself in the 2006-07 season and has more recently won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 while taking the Finals MVP honours.

Though Vince Carter is an eight-time all-star and was a budding super star at the time of this proposed trade, "Vinsanity" has slowed down and has been criticized for not playing to his potential.

So what are we getting in exchange for the NBA? I realize we are only going to get something that i akin to little league, and that even that is a stretch, but we can't just give it away for free can we?

If Howard gets to go to the Heat or Clippers, then the trade for CP3 to the Lakers should have been allowed.

No one can win if Howard goes to the Heat. It's an all star team then.

Quote:
Carmelo Anthony said Wednesday he doesn't want to be traded, denying a report that he would welcome an exit from New York.

"No, no, no, no. Let's nip this in the bud right now. No," Anthony said after the Knicks' morning shootaround.

"I don't know where that came from. I'm tired of hearing it. It came out this morning from I guess an anonymous source. I'm tired of anonymous sources. I don't want to be traded. I don't know where that foolishness came from, so let's put a cap on that and make this the last time I hear about that."

Anthony also denied there is a rift with Mike D'Antoni, saying he supported the coach "100 percent."

The Knicks have lost six in a row, with Anthony taking much of the blame. The back page of Wednesday's New York Post ran a headline saying "Melo Wants Out!" The trade deadline is Thursday, a little more than a year after the Knicks acquired Anthony from Denver.

But Anthony called the report "nonsense," adding that he's faced adversity throughout his career and "I've never ran from it and I'm not about to pick today to start running from it."

"I've only been here a year," Anthony added. "I don't want to leave right now, so I'm here to stay."

Anthony also said he believes fellow players and team officials prefer he stays, saying he received text messages from teammates asking him about the story and telling him they don't want him to go.

According to the Post, Anthony became so discontent with the Knicks after Monday's loss in Chicago that he told a confidant that he preferred to be dealt. The report said he was unhappy in part because he believed D'Antoni and interim general manager Glen Grunwald do not trust him.

"I don't think that's true at all," forward Amare Stoudemire said. "Melo loves the city of New York, he loves playing for the Knicks. So I don't think that's true at all."

It's what ESPN and NBATV keep calling him, have been calling him that all year. Kobe/Durant tearing it up, nope Melo is still the best scorer.
