Firstly, hi to those I used to game with, I hope everyone is well. I am not sure if there are any left who gamed when we did, but if there are, some sad news.
My old pal Lambasted Fox passed away this week. He fought a long battle with cancer and was overcome at the end. As with everything he did he fought it stubbornly and with great spirits and humour. What a classy guy.
Lam had a lot of friends here and had a big impact on AC when he played. He was always willing to help out in AC and gave away a ton of stuff.
Can you believe that as we were driving away from the funeral, the girl in the front seat of the car says 'hey look, there is a dead fox over there' and sure enough at the side of the road there literally was a lambasted fox. Unbelievable!

RIP Sionnach! you were always a great guy and helped me out when i was Wee little and just started here. and he did it outta the blue for no reason at all he just started schooling me on what i should do and how i should go about doing it!! much <3 to his family and friends!

Thanks, Dec, for taking the time to relay the news here, sad as it is...at least we know. I had a feeling this day would come all too soon and it saddens my heart more than mere words fumble to express.
As a cohort in combat, there was never a dull moment in his company (nor if Dec and Fox were together, remarks barbing back and forth). As one of the Black Dogs, Fox was an asset, a treasure and a source of endless amusement. As a vassal, he kept me on my toes and probably in some armor and boots, too. As a personal friend, he was evermore, even as tightly guarded as he tended to be when it came to matters of life and family.
Across the pond, the tears flow as do the memories. Though it was “only†through an MMO that I came to know him and it’s been years since my time in AC, his friendship and humor impacted me as no other. He had a way with words and - thanks to Guinness - a wayward way with them as well.  Never a dull moment.
Fortunate were those he held dearest in life and fortunate were those who knew him best. He was so much more than just what he gave away in “stuff†in game. Selfless in stuff, in life, in time he gave to help others…selfless in all and a hell of an opponent. It’s hard to believe there was a fight he couldn’t win, save for an argument with me… /insert bemused smirk
Fox, if you’re up there listening, somewhere in the great beyond…Blonde and Onyx have a bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey. (Not my idea. Blonde bought that for St. Pat’s Day.) You’ll remember how I had a shot of Jameson once and relayed the horrid face I made at the taste? Well, for you, I’ll raise a shot glass tonight and drink it, my face all the more sour knowing you’re really gone...
Here’s to you, Fox (raises a glass)…the rest of the toast is ribbed and cloaked for your protection.
Dec, if you happen to check back here, please know our hearts are with you and with Fox’s family. The real and gaming worlds lost a lot in losing him, but lasting are the effects he’s had. Memories live on even as the pixels fade and the night sky envelops the landscape.

Dec, thank you for sharing this with us, sad as it may be. Lammie was a very close friend and I have a lot of fond memories (and laughter!) at the antics we used to get up to. He was one of the people I missed the most when I decided to stop playing.
Onyx said it best, he was one of the most selfless and sweetest people I had been fortunate to meet whilst playing this game, and I am grateful for the friendship we had over the years.
Rest in peace Lammie, I'll have a good ol' pint of guiness in your memory when I next pop into a pub.

It's always sad to see a fellow mmo friend go.  I didn't know him well but the few times I talked to him he was always good to me.
Can anyone either confirm or deny this for me? I now play lotro (Lord of The Rings Online) we also had a fellow player pass away around the same time from cancer as well. Anyone know if he played lotro under a different name or is this just coincidence?

Very sorry to hear , LF was a friend and enjoyed his company and convos we had over the years.
I remember once during his wheeling/dealing of pack dolls he had a trade going on and wasn't gonna be able to be on to complete it. Asked me if i Minded taking care of it for him. I said sure, expecting him to give me the items to trade for the dolls he was getting. Next thing I knew he was giving me info needed to log onto his account so I could log in as him to complete the trade. Totally blew me away him trusting me like that.
Thats the way he was though, if you was a friend of his you had his trust and anything you needed he'd help you get.
Will be missed
