If people didnt notice -- they came out with a darker chip than their semi-sweet morsels. These guys are 53% caco and span the gap between bittersweet chocolate and semi-sweet. As such if you like that sort of thing they work really well.

Yes but the thing is the semi-sweet were dark chocolate chips.... The Dark Morsels are even deeper into dark. Usually you are looking at 35-40% caco.... This is 53%.
Sounds like an odd number but I think they probably taste tested and pushed the morsels right to the edge -- which is a very good thing

I thought I read that dark chocolate is much healthier for you than milk chocolate...
Why is Dark Chocolate Healthy?
Chocolate is made from plants, which means it contains many of the health benefits of dark vegetables. These benefits are from flavonoids, which act as antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the body from aging caused by free radicals, which can cause damage that leads to heart disease. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants (nearly 8 times the number found in strawberries). Flavonoids also help relax blood pressure through the production of nitric oxide, and balance certain hormones in the body.
I believe I also read that dark chocolate is better for you than milk chocolate - something about the milk solids counteracting the benefits of the flavonoids.

I think it's better because cocoa kinda good for you, and if you eat dark chocolate, that means that you're getting more cocoa and less sugar and added fat than with milk chocolate.
