I've had good luck with refurbished items a couple times before, and they're much cheaper than new.

What do you think about this one?

If it stays under $1,000 I'm gonna be looking at targeting this one in like 6 months when I save up enough money

Warranty?

I would never buy a laptop without a warranty. Spent half my career fixing the stupid things, have no more faith in them.

Would buy a 2 year Squaretrade warranty with it, I think it'd be like...$250 extra or something like that. Not sure if it includes accidental damage, would have to check into that.

I have other stuff to buy now, the laptop is just something I'll need soon due to school. For this amount of money I can't find anything better out there currently. Maybe ACF knows of something better though.

In my experience manufacturer refurbished items are nearly just as good as brand new. And we're talking a difference of $400 here between new and refurbished.

You said you need it for school, what will you be doing on it? Just research and writing papers type of stuff? or will you be doing something processor intensive like graphics or audio programs?

Hopefully both! I'm new to this gaming laptop world. Been doing some research on it. I knew right away I didn't want an Alienware.

So it comes down to Asus G73 series, a Sager or the MSI Force series of laptops.
