heading out for the opening weekend of March Madness. Every time I've gone out there, I've posted here to see if anyone has any tips/tricks that they've discovered/developed. Now that I'm a pro, returning 3-4 times a year, I've been getting decent offers.

Right now I'm booked at NYNY for a ridiculously low rate. I almost always stay at Mirage or Bellagio, so this will be a first time down on that end of the strip.

Anyone stay there?
Any tips for upgrades?
Will they take the $20 sandwich under your CC?

We're going to hit up the Las Vegas Hilton for Thurdays games, and then I'm playing in the Ceasar's Bball Classic poker tournament series. I'm an mlife member, and totalrewards member.

Anyone eat anything interesting lately?
Any march madness tips?

I'll be there (my first Vegas trip) as well. I don't know the details, my brother is handling all of the housing stuff. I'm looking forward to the trip tho. grin

unless you have $400 or so to spend at least. i went to treasures last time and the talent was top notch.

for food, almost any restaurant at the cosmopolitan is awesome. DOCG for italian, Jaleo for tapas are the best.

how many guys you rolling out there with? If you have a large group, when you go places, you might consider a limo instead of taking cabs. I've got a guy who typically charges us ~$80 ($100 during peak), but will take 10-12 folks at a time. That ends up being less than 2-3 cabs, and he has some sweet ass rides (hummer limo/party bus).

The strip is absolutely huge. Even if you are going from Mirage to Ceasars, which are next door to each other, you will be walking for 20 minutes. Also trying to cross to the other side of the strip is a pain in the ass because you have to go to one of the sidewalk bridges.

If you are going out at night, don't even bother getting in a line anywhere. The lines are for skeevy dbags wearing $300 silk shirts... I'm thinking dudes like tenkly. Get there before 10 PM, or after 2 AM, and you can walk into almost any night club. The line is all bull$hit anyway, these places are almost never at capacity. Going during march madness is funny though, because the sausage to skank ratio is like 10-1. You're better off drinking at a bar instead of a club. Heck we have tons of fun drinking at the video poker bars... you just have to get your bartender pumped up with some big tips at the start. Those bartenders are the lowest rung in Vegas, so they are usually boring and poor crappy drinks. Get them going and you'll be drinking for free pretty quick, and they'll tell you some insider tips about how to have some strange kinds of fun.

if you're going to vegas and trying to be a cheap-ass, then stay the hooter's hotel and eat subway for lunch. if you want to have a legit time in vegas, bring some money.

it also doesn't help to get to a club when it opens because you're still paying $17 for drinks while you wait 2 hours for the place to fill up. if you have a bunch of people, pitch in on a table. it's worth it.

afaik there are only three of us going. I assumed we'd walk where we want to go, but I'm expecting them to know wtf to do and I'm just gonna drink, gamble and go with the flow.

Hopefully I'll come back without a face tatoo. grin

Only bring a specific amount of what to gamble and during right now it is probably going crazy. Pretty sure some colleges are on spring break and with march madness about to go on it'll be even crazier
