Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

How the hell could I have caused the migration over to IGN? All I did was take a week-long trip from New York back to Washington State... And yes, I took my damn sweet time... Although, I did have several interesting experiences... Here's one... In Indiana and Missouri enroute to Kansas City, I was driving on I-70 and I was texting a friend that I was meeting in Kansas City at the time saying "Hm, I see a huge storm front, about 40 miles wide..." The minute I entered the storm, all of sudden, I had a downpour similar to being in a waterfall not being able to see like 15 feet in front of me. All the other cars had pulled over under bridges with their hazard lights flashing. And what do I do? I keep going at 70 mph zooming my way towards Kansas City... Later that night after checking into hotel, I watched the news and went "Uh-oh..." Cuz apparently there was tornadoes close to where I had been... I was like "Hmm, I'm definitely not telling my mom this... She'll blow a gasket..."

Depending on what night that was... you drove through the storm that killed 13 people here. It also completely eliminated at least two small cities and caused a ton of damage across the state.

I left New York Thursday afternoon... Managed to get just southwest of Columbus, Ohio before stopping for the night. I stayed overnight in a rest area sleeping in my car. I left the rest area a little after 6am Friday morning and didn't get to Kansas City til around 5pm Friday afternoon. Based on the news and my observations, I believe I passed through the storms because as I was driving, I saw at least 3 storm fronts, and for two of those, cars were pulled over under bridges. I only thought they pulled over to wait out the rain and since I'm used to driving in a heavy downpour, I kept going. It never occurred to me that it was alot more than just rain. So I might have had close calls with tornadoes, and I will definitely pay more attention next time I do a road trip.
